HOLIDAY ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Here's something different! For all Patreon members, I'm starting a Monday Modal Mixture Masterclass on December 30th. This will be a series of 6 livestream to help build up your composing skills and understanding of the modes and how/why you should be juggling them all at once.  I'll be explaining the concepts, then composing and producing them into a complete piece.

Each livestream will be roughly 90 minutes, and will be followed up with a Q+A from viewers. Each stream will conclude with an assignment or project for students to complete on their own and share with others here on Patreon. Then, I'll choose a few for grading in a separate video each week.

Here's an overview of the curriculum:

These two weeks explore how shifting a single note up or down in a major or minor key can move us into a parallel mode (or a neighbor key).

Writing in ionian, but temporarily using aeolian.

Understanding how the minor scale with a variable 7th can bounce us between Minor and Harmonic Minor

Understanding how/why the melodic minor scale is popular and where it might be seen

Putting it all together by starting with the Ionian structure, and introducing elements from all of the previous modes and scales.

The schedule may grow or shrink depending on the progress of students, but this is the general flow of things. I'll still be working on two other projects while this class is in session:

1- TOTALLY FREE Barre Chord Course

This will be an A-to-Z tutorial on everything a guitarist could ever want to know about barre chords. Includes theory, technique, tips + advice, exercises, PDFs, audio examples. I expect to have this finished and posted on YouTube in early-mid January

2- Revised and Improved Rhythm Course

My rhythm course is an immense resource that I feel has been overlooked and underused. I'm going to try to remedy this by revamping the PDFS and examples into professionally bound workbooks, much like the Chord Progression Codex. Once available (expected by February), you'll all get the biggest discount I can afford on the actual workbook.

So that's the scoop! Once those are done I'll get back to "tradtional" youtube videos, and first on the list will be the analysis of the waltz section from metallica's Orion. Until then, I want you all to have a great Christmas and/or holiday season. You can plan on seeing me live on the 30th, but I'll post more information on the upcoming sessions before then.

Lastly, I'd like to thank you all kindly for being here at my Patreon, even when the activity is quiet. I sincerely hope my track record shows that your support is going towards the right things! Those who have been here for a long time have seen me come and go through many big projects (ultimate modal poster, theory and songwriting course, rhythm course, chord progression codex), and I've done my best to make sure that everyone who has supported me can get those items for free (or as cheap as I can ship them). That means everything to me: to have a job where I can create stuff that is of high quality (not just profitable or viral) and it actually HELPS people as part of my job!

I really hope you'll make this available after the fact. I usually watch long form videos in smaller chunks. Especially if there is an educational value, like yours. i'm a stickler for details. ✌️✌️
