Yes, we are taught as children to keep away from spiders and snakes, like being told to look both ways before crossing the road. The big, ugly spiders, like Huntsmen, aren't dangerous. It's the smaller ones, such as Redbacks, Funnelwebs, Whitetails, etc., that have the serious venom.
