First, thank you all so much for your thoughtful and detailed feedback on my latest shading experiment. I truly appreciate the variety of perspectives you’ve shared—it's exactly the kind of input I was hoping for! 😊

Your comments were incredibly varied, and honestly, they didn’t make the decision any easier for me... in the best way possible! 😄 I can see there’s a strong split in preferences, which only shows how unique each of you is in what you look for in these assets. Some of you love the softer shading for the clarity it brings, especially when scaled down, while others are drawn to the bold, stylized look of the harder shading for its distinct personality.

Based on this, I’ve decided to go for a balanced approach that incorporates elements of both styles! Moving forward, the majority of my assets will keep the original shading style, with some subtle refinement—I'll remove a few of the harsher shadows to improve clarity without necessarily switching to soft shadows. This way, the bold, defined look remains, but with a bit more readability in the details. For specific themes, like fairy tales or woodland creatures, I’ll lean into softer shadows to give a gentler, storybook feel. But for darker or more intense themes—such as dark fantasy or barbaric styles—I’ll keep the bold shading style intact to match the mood. 😊

Additionally, I’ll make an effort to expand the grounding details when possible. This should help each asset feel more "anchored" on the map, reducing the need for extra elements around them and saving you all some time on your large-scale maps. 🌳🏰
