Tales of Zale Episode 3 - 1 minute of rough animation!

Dear Patrons,

Hope you've been well. It's been about a week since I returned from Stuttgart, where I had a wonderful time participating in the Animation Sans Frontière. There isn't too much new to report since this first "module" focused on facilitating workshops to loosen the participants up and let us all get to know each other a bit better.

I did also try my best to set aside time to work on episode 3 while there, though. I've gotten to the point where I feel like I really need to force some progress through after all this prep-work if I want to see this thing done within a reasonable time. I'm not about to make a rush-job out of it - I just mean to start chipping away at the rough animation and set a steady pace that I can make time-estimations from.

I was presented with the possibility of receiving a small amount of funding from the Open Workshop for bringing in some assistance on some of the production. Together with Patreon, that's just about the only funding I can count on for a project like this since most (no) Danish funds support the production of a single web episode. All in all, it isn't enough to pay a fair rate, so, for the time being, I've decided to save it up and push as much of the rough animation as possible by myself. Then, when the time comes to go into clean-up and background mode, I can start looking into bringing in help with the means available to me. One thing at a time, though. For now, I'd like to share with you the minute of rough animation I managed to make this past month, with ASF in-between. There are some adjustments I'd still like to make - though some can be done in clean-up - but for now, I'm laying the groundwork. I hope you enjoy!

All the best till next time,

- Sif

PS: Zale's voice actor is on a longer sick-leave, so my temp lines are currently still filling in for him. That's why there's no lip sync done for him quite yet!

Thank you Alberto! Looking forward to sharing more of the story here as I finish more rough animation bit by bit :)

Sif

Thank youu! I'm glad you think so - I worked pretty roughly with the cat crowd since there were so many of them, but I'm looking forward to tying down their movement a bit more during clean-up!

Sif

Absolutely fantastic animation, Sif. The animal movements are very natural and convincing. Great work as always!
