Bird drama, finished applications & art raffle draw

Dear Patrons,
Hope this update finds you well! Some weeks pass quicker than others, and in the case of these previous weeks it feels like they have gone by in a flash!
I have made a new version of the Tales of Zale project bible (attached) once more, and been hard at work applying for Nordic Talents and Animation Sans Frontière. To keep you up to date, I got a no from NiNoKo with the reasoning that the project was already too advanced for this universe accelerator – which, as far as reasons go is not a bad one. Fingers crossed for these coming applications though!
Since the applications are done for now I have finally moved my sight back onto episode 3’s production, and the last fixups to the animatic. Through the Open Workshop’s consulting program I had the opportunity to get some linguistic feedback on the script as well, and with these changes I’m finally starting to feel more confident about sending it to the voice actors.
To be completely transparent I feel like I should inform about a slight delay in my plans though. Last Friday my mom - who’s been taking care of my canary birds in Copenhagen – called me, panicked, informing me that my female canary had fallen into a vase and drowned. What’s worse is that she was leaving behind two 15-day-old canary chicks. I rushed to Copenhagen to make sure the chicks were safe and well fed and after a few days me and my male canary (who it turns out is able to mostly feed them himself) had the situation under control. Now given what happened I’ve decided to bring the birds with me to the Open Workshop residency where I can better keep an eye on them, but in fear of disturbing the male’s surprisingly solid feeding instincts I would like to wait until the chicks are somewhat weaned (able to eat independently), which may still take another week or so.
And so I’m stuck in Copenhagen, with only the things with me that I was able to gather in the spur of the moment. I’ve got my computer, tablet and TVPaint license, but the animatic file is on my other computer in Viborg, which is a bit frustrating given the work I was getting ready for. In the meanwhile I was offered about a week’s worth of freelance work. Normally I decline extra work these days to work on Tales of Zale, but given this particular situation I thought I might as well take it. Financially it won’t do much for me, but it will serve as a sign of good will to the system that currently provides for me.
So, a bit of an alternative week-or-so coming up, but other than that we should soon be getting back on track. On the 20th there’s another pitch masterclass where I’ll be bringing Tales of Zale to the table with what I’ve got so far. And then come July I’ve got a friend coming to Viborg to help animate on episode 3. That’s the time when I’d like to have the animatic done and really start getting into production.
Lastly, RAFFLE NEWS: With just 10 people signed up we haven’t quite reached the goal I set to start the raffle, but I think we’ve waited long enough. I’ll be drawing names and streaming it on Tuesday June 11th, let’s sayyy 6pm GMT+2.
Since so few people signed up this time around, I probably won’t do another raffle like this again. Maybe I’ll do stream give-aways or fanart competitions instead for the remaining prints – we’ll have to see. If you haven’t already, but still would like a chance to win this last raffle for an Elva lino-print, make sure to sign up via this link before the stream goes live:

That’s all I’ve got for now. I’ll talk to you soon!
