Hello Patrons,
Quick update from me - work is underway on the first of two videos that will cover the 1813 campaign in Germany, culminating in the famous 'Battle of the Nations' at Leipzig. This was make-or-break time for Napoleon, as both sides put gigantic armies into the field - about 3x the size of the armies that fought at Austerlitz!
You can see 3 little previews from 'The Road to Leipzig' video - the English cartoon makes fun of Napoleon's shortage of cavalry, which became a serious problem for him in 1813. Another image shows where he found the troops with which to rebuild the Grande Armée, and the third shows Prussian King Frederick William III and his 'An Mein Volk!' proclamation (To My People!), calling on the Germans to rise up and fight for their honour - this was the moment the so-called 'War of German Liberation' began.
This is a complex episode with virtually all of Europe on the march! So it may be a little delayed, but hope to share exclusive early access on Patreon in early Feb.
Thank you all again for your support, and have a great weekend!
Toby
