Great chapter, though I'm worried about two outcomes. First, that everything goes well and Jon Arryn goes back on his word since he doesn't have to keep his promises to a honor-less Lord like Baelish (Ned was already mad at Baelish for demanding anything from his Liege Lord, and Robert is mad at us/suspicious of us because of Arryn and the price we asked). Second, I'm worried what shenanigans and people he might meet before opening the gate, during, and immediately after as the sack happens. Will he get involved with some Royals, maybe a princess from Dorne? Who knows, but I'm excited to find out!

2021-11-03 15:36:17 +0000 UTCOverall enjoyed the chapter, the only part that took me "out" of it was probably the 1 million gold dragon price. The first thing that jumped to my head was how in the books/show, Ned was stunned to learn that the crown was 6 million in debt by the time he was hand. With the big emphasis that the Lannisters were owed half that. That Jon seems to casually be able to approve 1/6th of that, saying that he was ready to go to a full 3 million, just kind of messes with my idea of the universe. The Vale and Jon have that kind of cash to KNOW they can throw around during the middle of a rebellion? It just chaffed against what I understood of the source material. Now this can easily be explained with some future details, AKA, it isn't a lump sum, or that that amount is being debted to Petyr by the Iron Throne. I'm sure it can be easily accrued during reparations following the war, and with privilege's given to Petyr's land/bank. Just in the moment it seemed like only Robert really was reacting appropriately to that fuck load of money. Outside of that I enjoyed everything, seeing an SI not just happy munchkin through everything is quite nice.
