2020-01-26 03:40:44 +0000 UTCI love that episode. Light confessing to Naomi that he's Kira might be my favorite scene of the whole series. And then he still taunts her as she walks to her death. So cruel. So arrogant. The whole ending of this episode is just so incredibly sad and poignant. As to why Light couldn't just look up her name after finding out she was an FBI agent: I'm pretty sure Light doesn't have access to the FBI database. iirc he forced Ray Penber to write down all the names of all the active FBI members stationed in Japan and investigating Kira. Naomi's name wouldn't have been on that list since she is retired. Hence her being alive after Ray filled out that page from the notebook.
