Why Miyazaki's Films Sound Pretty

The music of Japan has always fascinated me, from Nobuo Uematu's scores to the Final Fantasy series, to Koji Kondo and his scores for Nintendo, and Yoko Shimomura and her work on Kingdom Hearts.
Arguably, the concepts in this video can be applied to all of the above composers, and depending on how this video plays out, I might start moving further into the realm of video games.
