i work audience for television shows and televised events, and the more im reading about the details of astroworld the more illegal it is, each state has a rigorous set of regulations depending on the population of your audience including minimum number of personnel, minimum number of fire exits, as well as pages and pages of protocol to follow and permits to get in order for it to be legal to pack that many people that close. live nation doesnt have a shot in court.

I live in Houston and have friends who made it out safely from Astroworld. I would say upwards of 95% of the blame lies with Live Nation. They have a track record of just plain not giving a shit, and NRG Park, the venue, has the same. A Playboi Carti concert just barely a month ago in the same complex, which I was at, was cancelled due to rioting. The security and crowd management that this venue/park/whatever has is categorically awful and never does their job effectively and people get hurt, and in this case, DIE because of it. Worth mentioning that Live Nation also has a stipulation in their refund policy for this that if you accept one, you cannot litigate against them. Shows their character, but they're a billion dollar company so anyone could have guessed that. Also RIP to the girl that passed out, was crowdsurfed to the barricade, and HPD fucking dropped on her head. She became brain dead. She was an organ donor so at least some good can come of this totally preventable fucking disaster. Sorry for the ranting this obviously just hits close to home and as a fan of Travis, as someone who had friends there, and as someone who lives in Houston, this one really stings.
