the issue with the “girl i’m a lesbian me too” line is that it plays into the long-standing history/precedent of straight men being predatory towards lesbians/not respecting attraction or sexuality that is NOT centering men. he’s saying he can coerce her into being with him; regardless of whether or not the situation of the lyrics is real, drake is condoning predatory behavior by cishet men towards lesbians, and many of us have lived through this very real experience of being coerced into relationships/hookups by cishet men who think it’s “hot”/“cool” that we like women and want to prove/exert their power or masculinity by “turning” us.
