man, i'm 18 and my boy is 20. We have a podcast called The Clouds Podcast, it's a comedy podcast that we started about a year and half ago and we started our video format 8 months ago. We aren't very consistent but we would love to bring the show forward. idk if TikTok is "it". i do not use it nor do i know anyone who does. my dad used to have it until it got flooded with kids being sexual/stupid. looking at all the toktok houses and how the app is structured (duets and lipsyncing) make it understandable why the app is what it is. maybe there is good content that is watchable, but it is heavily overshadowed by the whole pedophilia thing. also, the whole app is worse than facebook concerning privacy and amount of data they get from you. maybe its not better than twitter and any other social app, but things i have read were quite unsettling. personally im not ok with using an app that is so heavily influenced by china but then... other apps r heavily influenced by america so whats the difference.... so i do think that not as many ppl use it as yall think and by moving completely to tiktok yall be losing a huge chunk of your audience. obv things are constantly changing and makes sense why yall r looking for the next "thing" but there r better "investments" than tiktok.

the top few true crime podcasts out there right now are comedy podcasts! Last podcast on the left and my favorite murder are in the top 10 podcasts on spotify and both are at the top of the true crime and comedy podcast charts!!! you guys say the genre is beat to death, but i'd honestly kill for more comedic true crime podcasts. they are far more laid back then the more serialized true crime pods which can feel more like a 20/20 episode

I do agree with noel in some way about like "downgrading" by going onto tik tok, as I agree that tik tok will do nothing but help you gain an audience. When I go on tik tok, my favorites videos are ones of random people living their lives, not my favorite YouTubers. when I think tik tok, I think quantity. when I turn to my favorite creators, I'm looking for quality.

An idea that could be interesting is bringing on like mini-tmg seasons, and within that season, there's a third host on the show with you both every week for however long the season lasts, and then in the next season, it's another different host. Might be an interesting way to bring on some other voices, but the style stays the same where it's generally a conversation, that's what makes me enjoy tmg is because I feel like I'm just listening to my "friends" chatting about random shit.

Poet and Vuj is a football (soccer ) show filmed outside with these two guys who just talk football and life. They used to make shows for this big company but then they switched to just creating videos with them two on two chairs on the streets with a cameraman. Its really great in the same way as this podcast as they just talk freely for an hour. They of course have a main topic, that being football, but it's really great. You still have to be into football to understand and I don't think its really a show Americans will enjoy but just wanted to put it out there.

Tiktok fucking sucks and it is not an evolution of long form media, which will always exist because we all have more time than a few seconds to look at a tiktok. Movies have remained mostly the same since they were invented, they just gained audio, color and got wider. It is still a two dimensional plain displaying the moving image with audio played simultaneously. The only thing that truly changed is the delivery method, many of us have TVs in our house on which we can watch whatever the hell we want. The same goes for radio, it’s podcasting now, we can choose what we listen to more specifically, but it will always be mostly people talking for an hour or several hours. Don’t think tiktok is some huge game changer of how the next generation views media. They still watch movies, and they probably still listen to Joe Rogan (and maybe you). Tiktok is a different form of media entirely.

I can see you guys thriving by focusing on your own niche interests for awhile like Cody doing the podcast business idea, getting more serious about clothes, tiktok if he wants, etc. and Noel can focus on creative direction- maybe for Hulu/hbo/etc., formula one collaborations, music video production, music, etc. As a long time fan I like watching you two for separate reasons, and together lately the podcast has been kinda lacking with the content. Bringing on guests could help solve that. Relationship advice is fun and maybe include weird dm’s in the pod too, because they both involve fan interaction which brings interesting engagement. An ep with aleena& kelsey would be fun, too. not sensing strong chemistry between you guys on this ep though. also, tiktok highlights of the pod could def help boost views. honestly do whatever you really care about- I think you’re outgrowing stuff like that’s cringe and react with that which as Noel pointed out is rooted in a lot of negative/self-hating humor. Still hilarious but definitely classic ‘gamer’ humor that you’re allowed to mature from. obviously it’s hard to get anything rolling during covid but I still love your shit & will always support 🙏🏻❤️

My friend and I are trying to start a podcast, we’re students about to graduate as engineers and honestly I’d love to have a whole niche engineering podcast bc I have so many friends in my degree that I want to have on my podcast. I want to make like a comedy tech podcast kinda thing but I physically don’t have the start up money to even buy equipment (college students). Granted I wouldn’t want it to be specifically all about that but like I feel like college life and a little more of a sophisticated conversation is relatable in a lot of ways so I think it could reach out to honestly a lot of people I know in like an easy way to explain. Cody, I have a bit of an idea for your resolution to make something "bigger than yourself" that doesn't depend on you posting. The basis of what I'm thinking is that you have gotten to the point where you are because you are a funny guy, your overwhelming talent is in comedy and humour. I think if you were to create something it should play into these strengths of yours. The first thing that came to my mind is a media or production company that makes shows, kinda similar to "The Cut" and then sells them. I feel like you (and noel) could come up with some great premises and potentially be the commentators (or be involved in the show in some way) and then offload all the tough production work. If not that I really do think that you have talent as an actor, in your videos I have noticed some crazy progression in how credible your facial expressions are when you are doing a bit or mocking something. I really do think you should keep throwing yourself at that once COVID clears because I can see you as a character in a movie/series that I would fully buy into.

okay, weirdest driving experience. i drove home from college back to my tiny southern town, when you get off the interstate you have to take winding rural roads down the mountain. The podcast is ran by two women who also support full-time jobs, the cases are ridiculously in-depth and both women are incredible at creating an engaging story as well as giving informative unbiassed details on the cases give them a few lessons if you’re really looking to promote a podcast like that.
