love the format of this one, the insight it brings to y’all’s mindset and how quarantine has effected y’all. a lot of us resonated with this episode, it would be nice to see more of this on the ship.

2022-02-12 22:46:41 +0000 UTCI love that TMG's humor feels like it's maturing and growing with me as a person. So many creators you outgrow because they never change and you can't relate to the content anymore, but you guys are doing it right.
2022-01-08 02:12:06 +0000 UTCI love the way TMG's comedy is growing. Keep it up boys!

2021-01-08 14:01:32 +0000 UTCNoel, this epsiode really touched my heart. I've been in therapy for the past year, and the whole piece about understanding the family system you grew up in and how it shapes who you are today and what your coping/defense mechanisms are has been the core piece of my therapy as well. To talk about it so openly and with such acceptance was so touching to hear, and made me feel seen and understood. This year has been wild, and I'm so curious to see how everyone's year of sitting and reflecting will shape the world after this - I think (hope) it will be a world with more intention, more empathy for others' pain, and more appreciation for daily human connection. Echoing what everyone else has been saying, your guys' authenticity and honesty is what makes you so great, and I have complete faith you will listen to yourselves and find a path forwards that feels right for both of you.
2021-01-07 21:29:37 +0000 UTCLaying alone in the hospital before surgery. This helped me calm tf down! Y’all are up good

2021-01-06 21:25:27 +0000 UTCi'm about to make a big career switch to pursue my dream of being a writer, and i'm absolutely feeling what you're saying about feeling like everyone around you is innovating and constantly churning out amazing projects, and then getting worried that you aren't rising to that same challenge & pressure. i really needed to hear this. thank you <3

2021-01-06 18:06:20 +0000 UTCLove and respect so much when you guys open up! Dealing with my demons has brought me to many realizations and myself and it’s cool to hear I’m not alone.. Keep on doing what you guys are doing. <3

2021-01-06 01:57:15 +0000 UTCNoel you steamrolled cody but he wasn’t giving you anything to work with so I say keep steamrolling him

2021-01-05 20:46:12 +0000 UTCI love hearing your more serious conversations and thoughts, I keep watching you guys because I just like you and I feel like a lot of other people are the same way. keep on doing you <3
2021-01-05 20:29:03 +0000 UTCI genuinely think the TMG sub reddit is a bit of an echo chamber and the majority of your fanbase is happy to see you guys evolve, mature, and try new shit

2021-01-02 21:17:06 +0000 UTCLove hearing you guys talk about real stuff too. I’ve been with you guys since the vine days (when I was in HS) so I’m even going through that process of “what do I do next” now, approaching my mid-twenties. Love you guys :)
2021-01-02 06:47:44 +0000 UTChearing noel talk abt therapy is so relatable <3 brings me back to when i first started it.... those first months are intense...

2020-12-31 23:46:19 +0000 UTCthis is the conversation i imagine happening behind closed doors, it means the world to for you to share it with us. i hope you find that “thing” and keep building upon the strong foundation youve already built. your content is always genuine towards the audience and you pursuit of artistic value combined with your willingness to step out of your comfort zone into new territory will never be lost on me and so many fans. <3 you boys, happy new year
2020-12-31 19:52:20 +0000 UTCThe reason I keep listening to you guys is because you are who you are not what people want you to be ❤️

2020-12-31 13:33:44 +0000 UTCi appreciate these types of episodes the most. i love when we get an insight of what’s going on behind the scenes and i never want to lose that connection with overproduced formats but i know you guys don’t want that either so that’s why i completely trust you. thank you for choosing to share this with us, it really means a lot
2020-12-31 13:32:26 +0000 UTCWhat an amazing, authentic episode. This is what I pay for. To feel like I know these guys a little more and get as much content as possible.
Avery C
2020-12-31 04:13:38 +0000 UTCKeep growing your hair Cody as well as your dick for this next summer. Also love the transition to higher quality and more in depth content the two of you make. If all you did was regress back to what was successful in the past I think you’d be no better than the influencers you clown.
Sam Brott
2020-12-31 01:32:31 +0000 UTCI'm with all the other supportive comments, we love you guys and it's okay to grow and change and try new things with content. You have a loyal fanbase that loves the bits of authenticity and depth you guys give as well as the laughs
2020-12-31 00:14:21 +0000 UTCtrust me y'all, i'll always be interested in entertainers who grow, self-reflect, and care about other people. i love laughing but i don't feel super happy all the time, and the fact that the podcast reflects that actually helps me cope with those lower seasons of life
2020-12-30 21:04:52 +0000 UTCAwesome episode guys. Getting insight into what you two are thinking and how you are feeling is always going to be welcome. It’s obvious to me that the majority of your audience, especially the Patreon, is a fan of you two as people, not just the content. Seeing you both grow and develop and branch out and try new things is entertaining for sure, looking forward to what you guys do next.

2020-12-30 18:26:52 +0000 UTCLove you guys ❤️❤️
2020-12-30 17:43:11 +0000 UTCThis was a great episode guys it’s really nice to be able to see you guys open up about how you’re both feeling. I think i speak for 99% of your fans that we dont mind at all that you guys want to experiment and try new things because at the end of the day we come back because of Cody and Noel, not “that’s cringe” or “love island”, we enjoy your content because of who you are as people and so we’ll continue to watch and support you with whatever you decide to pursue. Love you guys keep it up ❤️
Connor McDermott
2020-12-30 17:19:45 +0000 UTCReally appreciated this. I think what makes you guys so special is that somehow you’re so good that probably 99% of us are more than willing to stick around while y’all explore and find your next “thing”. Y’all aren’t Charli Damelio and I think that’s a good thing- I think u guys have always prioritized the quality of your content and that’s what makes it worth it, whatever you do.
2020-12-30 17:09:11 +0000 UTCLove you boys, keep doing what you're doing <3
Ethan
2020-12-30 13:54:18 +0000 UTCA lot of people have already commented so I’ll keep it short and sweet. This episode was really good and it’s nice to understand where you’re both at because at the end of the day we’re all the same just trying to figure our way through life. As you guys get older, so do we and so it’s easy to understand what you’re talking about. Keep it going, love all your new shit and can’t wait to see more ! All love ❤️
James Johnson
2020-12-30 12:30:55 +0000 UTCThis is actually one of my favorite episodes from you guys. I’m not sure if Cody or Noel will read this comment, or if anyone else can relate, but I definitely can relate to what Noel is saying during the podcast. With the pandemic, I’ve had a lot of time to think about just how my life has been. And I’ve definitely lived a much more privileged life than most. But I feel I’ve had a lot of bad coping mechanisms during my life. An example would be like if I get ghosted by a girl, I tried to joke about how I’m never no one will ever love me, and that girls just hate me. And looking back at it now, I’ve definitely steered away from that type of humor because it does pain me now that I’ve had time to think about it. Idk. Just thought it was interesting. Noel and Cody are still 2 of the funniest people I watch, and I hope whoever is reading this has a blessed 2021!

2020-12-30 10:31:32 +0000 UTCFunny thing is I was considering unsubscribing from this pod before listening to this episode. Not for any "oh they aren't funny anymore" reasons but more for financial reasons (every five dollars counts more and more these days) and I was weighing either dropping this patron or unsubscribing from someone on twitch. Anyway, the "real talk" convinced me to stick with you guys so thank you for NOT apologizing for it. I value creators who care about their own work enough to challenge themselves; I value creators who seek creative fulfillment, not just money and attention; I value creators with artistic integrity. (I know the word "artistic" sounds snobby but that's only because elitists think they get to define what that means and they fucking don't. So yeah, assholes, a comedy podcast with two dudes making jokes about a butchery called "Meat Sluts" is still artistic! Go jerk off to a Charlie Kaufman film you high-on-your-own-dried-cum fuckers!) As much as I might roll my eyes when you guys have a whole episode filled with sex joke after sex joke--I like sexual humor but I do get tired of it after a while but that's just a me thing--it has never felt contrived or dishonest. So, thank you that. That's really important to me.
Moe
2020-12-30 10:29:39 +0000 UTCnah they have got to see this
2020-12-30 08:33:15 +0000 UTCEmbrace the growth Noel! If your darker humour isn't good for you, ditch it. We all just love both of you whatever you're doing, whatever type of humour. We'd all much rather see Noel happy and healthy than making dark jokes. You're still hilarious, both of you.
2020-12-30 06:08:05 +0000 UTCWhen is the next episode of cooped up? Noel is a Mousey boy!
2020-12-30 05:04:55 +0000 UTCI've watched every single main episode and bonus, and many of them multiple times, but this is my first comment. You two are perfect! I appreciate all the laughs over the last few years and occasionally learning something from you guys. Don't let this stuff going on get you down Noel. You're a great guy. Not funny anymore, and you’re downright boring, but still an all-around good back end developer engineer type of guy.

2020-12-30 01:54:15 +0000 UTCI just got threatened to be kicked off a plane by an allegiant airlines employee because I was listening to the podcast and accidentally fell asleep with my AirPods in. See what happened was my airpods died and the podcast was playing full blast for every mf on the plane to hear. I wake up to a 12 year old kid dying laughing, a mad mom cussing me out for playing something not appropriate, a dad getting out of his seat to kick my ass, and 2 flight attendants tapping my shoulder and telling me to turn off my volume. My first thought was they should be thankful they got a free bonus episode. As I get off the plane airport security asked me a few questions on why the guy was trying to fight me. After a few minutes of talking to them and explaining to them the situation they understood completely. The best part of the whole situation was when they asked me what the name of the podcast was, the one guy said “good lord I hope they weren’t moaning”.
Alex Hoelle
2020-12-30 01:00:27 +0000 UTCThe insight that the two of you have is so important and something I think we all appreciate. Love the real talk, love you guys!

2020-12-29 23:58:37 +0000 UTClove you guys :)

2020-12-29 22:55:28 +0000 UTCLove a real talk episode. And Noel I think it’s really cool you talk about going to therapy, especially because another podcast I listened to recently was stressing the importance of people mentioning therapy in daily conversations to relieve the stigma from around it. I think it’s really, really helpful for a lot of people. Great episode guys
Amelia .Koncki
2020-12-29 22:40:39 +0000 UTCI was just talking about the effect tiktok is having on content with my dad and we definitely agree it’s fucked with peoples attention spans for content but I think it’s just for certain kinds of content. I think traditional entertainment is gonna stay pretty solid especially after seeing how much of a failure quibi was, also the trend of tv moving towards shorter seasons or mini series has been happening way before tiktok which I think has led to better quality stuff. Long ass comment but random that I was just talking about that point the other day
2020-12-29 21:53:25 +0000 UTCAlways love the getting real episodes. When it comes to reflection, I think we all mentally aged a lot more this year..
Lourens Touwen
2020-12-29 20:21:52 +0000 UTCI was just re-watching old videos/podcast episodes of you two. I watched y'alls first episode on Insanely Chill, and there is definitely a huge shift in the content, the comedy, and the self-censorship you guys do now. However, that's to be expected, and it's a sign of growth. All creators, artists, and entertainers eventually have to change and evolve their products/work to appeal to a wider audience. You guys weren't supposed to be sitting at that kitchen table with two corded mics shitting on Lele Pons forever. Its like when fans get upset that their favorite artists' new album isn't a "good" as their first and/or second album. Thats just how it is. I like the new baking show and the older/maturer TMG.
Kingsley Dimiri
2020-12-29 19:10:36 +0000 UTCI really appreciated y’all getting real. Some of it really resonated for me too, just from being 29 and trying to figure out how this shift in my mindset has changed what is genuinely important to me now. It’s cool! I feel like we’re growing up together in a way lol. I felt similar when I listened to the new Cudi album too, so I’m curious to know y’alls thoughts on that album.
Laura Lewis
2020-12-29 17:54:20 +0000 UTCOne of my fav eps guys. Great hearing you opening up. Felt genuine. Its ok to take care of yourself and finding new shit you’re interested in. The fans will follow cuz we like you guys. Happy H

2020-12-29 03:34:16 +0000 UTChonestly, in the state of the world rn, anyone who's genuine and is making content with the sole purpose of showing us what makes yall happy, makes us happy. its just good to watch people who aren't pretending that everything's okay, but still wanna give something to the world to look forward to. its fucking refreshing.

2020-12-29 03:31:42 +0000 UTCThere's definitely good sketch comedy on youtube. Joel Haver, Fairbairn Films, Gus Johnson...

2020-12-29 02:50:20 +0000 UTCthanks for opening up. you're both still super funny. that's an innate gift. you don't have to worry about that at all. keep in mind, we're also evolving with you, too. your older humor wouldn't feel the same for me anymore either. appreciate you both!
2020-12-29 01:24:38 +0000 UTCidk if this would be a weird thing bc it’s not necessarily something you guys have explained interest in but it would be so cool if you guys got into true crime, i think the combo of your guys humor and the cases would be so entertaining <3
2020-12-29 00:40:12 +0000 UTCit's keep the change not happy holidays

2020-12-29 00:13:27 +0000 UTCthis episode was so one of my favorites by far. love you guys.

2020-12-28 22:51:49 +0000 UTCI really loved this episode. I love hearing you guys be more down to earth and honestly about yourselves. Keep it up guys

2020-12-28 21:48:47 +0000 UTCIf you guys have fun so will we, because you will provide better content when you’re doing what you want to be doing. Keep it up, we love you guys!
2020-12-28 20:59:02 +0000 UTCDont overthink it yall. Just keep going steady. ❤️❤️❤️
2020-12-28 19:51:41 +0000 UTCyou guys are keeping me sane during a hard time for me so it makes it easier to know that I'm not alone with struggling even if its about different things. love you guys

2020-12-28 19:10:27 +0000 UTCMaegan Hill this episode means a lot to me. thank you guys so much for the honesty. you’ve been putting out SO much content lately and everyone sees the hard ass work and i love you guys for it. i consume all your content and just love and appreciate you guys so much. merry christmas bitches
Maegan Hill
2020-12-28 19:01:30 +0000 UTCI fucking love you guys so much. do the baking shit, have fun. We will support you both in whatever you do bc we all genuinely love y’all as individuals. Don’t feel pressure to copy everyone else. 💛
Lindsey
2020-12-28 18:58:49 +0000 UTCThis is by far one of my favorite eps you guys have done. Been here since the beginning and the way noel shared a glimpse into his dark humor is the type of real content influencers are striving for. Love y’all
2020-12-28 18:55:31 +0000 UTCI also really enjoy when you guys offer serious commentary on social media/entertainment.
2020-12-28 18:12:07 +0000 UTCgreat episode guys, especially during these times. blessed.
2020-12-28 15:55:12 +0000 UTCIs it just me or was this one of the best episodes of any podcast? Just hearing two interesting people express themselves so honestly and sincerely is such a rare and valuable thing, and its something I really appreciate listening to.
2020-12-28 15:09:41 +0000 UTCi ruined my undies
2020-12-28 15:03:59 +0000 UTCi really enjoy the episodes where you guys are serious and really let us know how you feel. it's more genuine than seeing you try to force being funny when you don't want to be/when you wanna have serious conversations.
2020-12-28 12:34:17 +0000 UTCCody, you're not supposed to keep the support foam in the mic's shock mount. It's just for transport.
Santeri Peltomäki
2020-12-28 11:18:19 +0000 UTCHonestly great episode guys! Thanks for this one.

2020-12-28 09:50:38 +0000 UTCLoved the ep boys. Been a fan of both y’all since vine, and it’s been so cool to see your comedy/careers grow into what it is. Thanks for being genuine and letting us get a peek behind the curtain 💕 Love, one of the lil meat sluts
autumn
2020-12-28 05:44:16 +0000 UTCdamn feels like i just went to therapy lol
2020-12-28 02:23:43 +0000 UTCAlso it feels like the boys are gearing up to make a major pivot
2020-12-28 02:09:25 +0000 UTCBruh I’m only 19 y’all making 30 sound scary as hell
2020-12-28 02:04:39 +0000 UTCI love looking at the Paul bros as a case study for influencers. They didn't have a skill they were pursuing like comedy, acting or singing when they got famous, so they've kinda had to figure out what they offer as entertainers as they went along. I think their willingness to grind and branch out is a lesson this new crop of kids from Tik Tok haven't learned yet.
2020-12-28 01:01:38 +0000 UTCdamn. i’ve listened/watched every piece of content since the weekend edition days. this was one of my fav eps ever. feel like i’ve been on this ride with you guys even just as a listener. introspective/reflective stuff like this every once in a while will always be the best
Andrew McNamee
2020-12-28 00:55:13 +0000 UTCI’m playing but In all seriousness this was a nice episode to hear the boys sit down and get real. It was refreshing almost. You guys stay killing it and I look forward to each post from TMG to their personal accts, and Cody and Noel Do is ready to surpass that’s cringe. Keep it up short kings.
Eli Gonzales
2020-12-28 00:24:53 +0000 UTC“Stop talking about Jake Paul” Now their becoming self aware, way to go assholes...
Eli Gonzales
2020-12-28 00:21:48 +0000 UTCmy favorite thus far ily you guys and i think we all been feeling this thinking phase during quarantine. i think you guys are moving in the right direction, i have LOVED the cody and noel do series so far. i would love to watch a show like that. i love how you open up too. 10/10 <3
2020-12-27 22:57:23 +0000 UTCYou guys are great at being funny but we so appreciate your honesty and serious moments as well. I understand wanting to keep your personal lives private, but we do want to celebrate your personal triumphs with you as well as laugh with you. What’s next? Is a issue I think majority of the people sitting in quarantine are struggling with, so that really resonated with me. Keep being cool guys. Take care of your brains. Much love.
2020-12-27 22:33:34 +0000 UTCHonestly I prefer you being real and honest than you forcing to be funny. One of the reasons I started listening to this podcast was because you both opened up more about his past. In the last months it felt like you both stopped sharing things about yourself. Cody buys a whole house and I only see it on Reddit, he never even mentioned it. That’s the reason it felt more and more hollow to me.
Cordula Jäger
2020-12-27 20:58:07 +0000 UTCI am not sure if this will help but I think the overall thing you guys “sell” to your fan base is yourselves and the chemistry you both have as comedic partners and true friends. The best piece of content you can provide us is the one you guys WANT to do based on who you are at the time. With all of this said I will say it is good to keep in mind what “success” means for you two and you guys want for yourselves and also TMG. I’m looking forward to the content you two will be putting out and not everyone will be happy with every single thing you will do but that is fine you two do you.
Oscar Maciel
2020-12-27 20:54:28 +0000 UTCThanks for being honest with us guys, this episode felt reassuring in the sense that we’re all struggling to adapt to an uncertain future as we ourselves are changing and growing. It was really nice to hear you guys open up and share your thoughts after such a difficult year, we will be here cheering and supporting you on whatever path you guys decide to take, we care about you guys and your mental health so do whatever you guys need to find that feeling Cody was talking about in the projects you take on. Go out of your comfort zones, despite the overwhelming request for series like that’s cringe to come back, don’t feel like you’re constricted to that type of content, trial and error is the best course of action and those of us who truly care about you two will stick with you no matter what. Cheers and happy holidays, may 2021 bring you guys nothing but the best.
2020-12-27 18:10:42 +0000 UTCThank you guys for making me feel less alone for things that I am feeling. I think many of us feel the same way.

2020-12-27 16:49:04 +0000 UTCI'm proud of Noel opening up
Lxssi
2020-12-27 13:25:17 +0000 UTCphilion rocks. i always love when creators i like become fans of each other. he has definitely mentioned being a fan of cody and noel so i'm sure he is pumped that cody likes his content.
2020-12-27 11:33:40 +0000 UTCI love their in-depth emotional conversations about the work they do and how it makes them feel. It makes me wanna support their content a million times more after hearing about their behind-the-scenes thought processes. We fuckin love you guys. I hope the work you do is as fulfilling to you as it is to us.

2020-12-27 10:47:26 +0000 UTCThis episode felt like when my mom told me my dog was “sick” when I was little

Mike
2020-12-27 08:49:09 +0000 UTCthe energy in this one felt different in the best way, its like i watched some weight lift off your guys' shoulders
2020-12-27 06:25:48 +0000 UTCA common theme lately with you guys has obviously been “what’s next?” Or that feeling of not knowing if what you’re doing it right and I think this episode is a perfect example saying to just be yourselves. Opening up and being real has always gotten you guys the farthest. Don’t take this the wrong way but I think people got onto you on Reddit for the pod not being the same because maybe you’ve been trying TOO hard. Like being real with us like this episode was sick and by doing that I think you’ll naturally find “what’s next”. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that your level of genuineness is what makes us keep listening to the pod. keep it going teenie weenies🐐
2020-12-27 05:46:55 +0000 UTC"Songs are gonna be 30 seconds long" Laughs in hardcore punk. For real enjoyed the episode alot.

2020-12-27 05:26:01 +0000 UTCi've been following you guys for years and years and as someone in my late 20s i appreciate hearing you guys get a little serious and talk about maturity and growth because it sort of feels like we're going through it together in a strange (and not creepy) way this whole episode was oddly comforting and i will keep supporting you both no matter what path you guys decide is right.. not to get sappy, this ep just has me in my feels, i just appreciate you both so much

2020-12-27 05:11:18 +0000 UTCThat was interesting what you said about tiktok and questioning if people will one day only crave short form content. I was thinking that too until I realized that quibi tried that exact thing and failed miserably. It makes me wonder if it is possible for the future, when younger generations get older. But it seems like nowadays people aren’t ready for corporations putting money behind high quality short form serialized content
2020-12-27 05:00:28 +0000 UTCWhile you both are complete strangers to me, you have been present in my life in the strangest and most consistent ways. Cody, I started watching your vines when I was 14. I'm 20 now. Noel, I could not get enough of you after I binge watched your sketches on YouTube. I started listening to the podcast when I was a junior in high school, right around the time y'all started. Listening to the episodes felt like we were all in on a secret that the rest of the world didn't know about. I still feel the same sense of anticipation while I wait for the next episodes to come out. As I've grown up and out of my old self, you guys have grown with me. Thank you for being transparent and honest with us this episode. I might seem nuts, but I have sensed the heaviness on both sides of the microphone for a while. Thank you for vocalizing what you felt compelled to share. I found comfort in hearing that both of you are dealing with the same intrusive thoughts and anxieties about yourself and your meaning that the rest of us face. Please practice compassion and patience with yourselves. I wish I could've hugged your short little asses at the World Domination M&G, but we'll save it for another day :). You two might not see this, but I thought I'd share anyways. Love you guys so much!

2020-12-27 04:46:38 +0000 UTCGlad you guys brought it up near the end; I recently binged my sanity away at a 5.5hr TMG highlight vid on YT, and kept noticing bits from wild interactions with random people. Once we have COVID under grips, I can’t wait to see y’all craft fucktastic bits with your reflected, matured humor.
2020-12-27 04:24:51 +0000 UTCI appreciate you guys opening up a little bit on this one, it really gives a different perspective on things bts we don't get to see. Great ep, thanks guys

2020-12-27 02:43:21 +0000 UTCthis ep reminds me of the time cody had a panic attack on a bonus ep as well. good times. honestly i think it would be weird if cody was still partying every other day like a fratboy and you'd still be making the iced caramel macchiato joke about noel- change is a necessity for growth, not a misfortune. and by staying true to yourselves you're gaining fandom that stays with you through new ventures you decide to take even if it's something out of ordinary (which might not be the case if you were continuing series that you don't even like anymore). also, as someone in a state of permanent anxiety/panic bc of pandemic and other shit, while i do turn to your content for escape it's still not lost on me that you are human beings going through the same pandemic as we all are so the podcast "not hitting the same" is the least surprising thing, i'm just happy for some laughs.
2020-12-27 01:04:19 +0000 UTCLove you guys, keep it real.
2020-12-26 23:27:43 +0000 UTCI've been watching you two for years at this point and I find the transition talked about in this episode to be really great. I teach high school social studies and when talking with the students about concepts like success in entertainment, youtube etc. I fine the points that you two have brought up over the past years to be ultra insightful. The critical analysis along side the comedy have 100% helped me build frameworks and mentalities around being an entertainer that I personally did not have. You two do this so well while also making sure the ideas are digestible for your average person. Thanks for all the time, effort and thought that goes into this and all of your work, it impacts people in ways you two may not realize.
2020-12-26 23:24:31 +0000 UTCStay real - will always support the bois 🤙🏼

2020-12-26 23:17:02 +0000 UTCI really appreciate you guys opening up about shit-obviously you guys are human & because you guys are like my LIFE in my eyes, when you open up about difficult thoughts you have about growth & stuff it makes me feel closer to you guys in a way. It’s crazy how fast time has gone since this pandemic and I can’t imagine what pressure you guys put on yourselves thinking, “what haven’t I done?😰”. Thanks a lot for being your genuine selves Cody & Noel !! ❤️
2020-12-26 23:06:31 +0000 UTCRelated a lot in this one. I’m here for whatever’s next. Been watching and listening for years and relate with a lot of things even down to personality traits and such due to similar “upbringings” (from what I’ve heard you mention). Also I’ve had many similar like “realizations” as y’all but never comment for some reason. I haven’t been disappointed with anything recently mainly cause I don’t expect anything from you guys except to be there honestly lmao. And i just mean “be there” as producing something that you want to no matter what platform, format or quantity. And you guys delivered and some so just do your thing
2020-12-26 23:06:19 +0000 UTCthis is the shit boys i almost cried. everybody dealing with shit these days a pandemic does that to people dont stress it. keep living and ill keep watching

2020-12-26 22:53:44 +0000 UTCNoel sounds like a dad who couldn't afford Christmas presents this year with the tone of this episode
2020-12-26 22:24:58 +0000 UTCloved this episode fr!!!
2020-12-26 22:24:44 +0000 UTCthis one kind of reminded me of "1985- intro to the fall off" by j. cole, but kind of like they're on both sides, so thats why they're "floating." they've kind of collided and know the momentum isn't gone, but put into multiple directions? idk. im not gonna say or tell them how they feel, just kind of how I interpreted it. good podcast though, I admire they're passion for creating something for someone to love and laugh at

2020-12-26 21:42:44 +0000 UTCThis is why I love this podcast! Really appreciate you guys having so much transparency behind your content. Makes everything feel super genuine and gives so much context behind all the other stuff you do on other platforms.
2020-12-26 21:21:46 +0000 UTCthis was one of my favourite bonus episodes since I joined patreon, love you guys and hope you had a great holiday
nate
2020-12-26 21:20:26 +0000 UTCLove getting an insight into the thought process behind all the content you guys make and behind your careers in general. I think you both have a really interesting place in the world of comedy. I know people from the age of 12-50 that love your stuff across all platforms. Was at the Dublin show and had never been to anything that combined all the elements that you guys had. Also had never seen that many people around my age (22) at a stand-up show in Ireland.
2020-12-26 21:17:17 +0000 UTCrooting for you guys, nothing but bangers for the future for the both of you!!!!! LFGGGGG

2020-12-26 20:44:34 +0000 UTCThank you for always keeping it real and not being afraid to try new things. Hope y’all had a great Christmas.
2020-12-26 20:35:37 +0000 UTCloved this video. hope 2021 brings nothing but good things for y'all.
2020-12-26 20:35:02 +0000 UTCever since i found out that cody is a sag and noel is a leo, everything has made sense

2020-12-26 20:28:47 +0000 UTCfr you guys are the only thing helping me cope with being home for the holidays i wish you understood how much we appreciate your authenticity. you guys have staying power just from being two dudes with microphones. don’t be so hard on yourselves, this year was fucking crazy and we’re just grateful for the laughs you’ve given us when we needed it most. cheers to 2021, hope you guys stay safe and healthy.

2020-12-26 19:43:36 +0000 UTCMan this comment section is beautiful. Y'all take a break and have a happy new year.
2020-12-26 19:21:10 +0000 UTCThis, YT videos being only 10 minutes long is a thing of the past
2020-12-26 19:18:56 +0000 UTCIt's the self awareness and ability to reflect that we value so much about you guys. As long as you lean into that, you will be succesful. The way you approach comedy and life in general is something really special to me, and that's the only thing that I would hate to lose.
2020-12-26 17:48:37 +0000 UTCThanks, boys, for all of the content you've worked so hard on this year. TMG is one of the places I've turned this year whenever I needed a laugh or a distraction from everything that's going on in the world. Especially this year, you guys have been so vulnerable about your anxiety, Noel going to therapy, the struggles of being in the online entertainment industry, etc, so well, while also delivering hilarious and irreverent content and hot takes. It's great to hear that you old men are looking to stay relevant and bring new content. I have no idea if it applies to your industry, but based on my own experience living through this year and how everything social is on hold, I hope that a lot of your feelings of lack of direction and self-doubt are a product of not being able to connect with the audience, other creators, and each other IRL. This whole experience is so alien to us, and really messes with our intuition as far as what's hitting and what isn't. Thanks again for all that you do, and for being vulnerable with us. Happy holidays TMG!
2020-12-26 16:55:20 +0000 UTCI really enjoyed the conversation you guys had. It seems like therapy is making a positive impact on Noel. Hope you guys had a merry Christmas
Nat
2020-12-26 16:41:30 +0000 UTCThis was awesome guys. To hear openness from people that we are huge fans of us so refreshing. You guys are so genuine, and that is why I always took to y’all. Hope y’all have a merry Christmas and stay safe! Thanks for all y’all do
Max Lubelczyk
2020-12-26 16:32:40 +0000 UTCIt wouldn't be an end-of-year episode without an existential crisis :D The episode was great, and yea, some new things will land and others won't, but please keep trying! We love you guys, Merry Christmas!
Husam Fahmi
2020-12-26 15:23:25 +0000 UTCNoel and Cody, I haven't listened to this yet, but hope you and your families had a very Merry Christmas. My wife is currently getting her stocking stuffed by her boyfriend to commemorate good tidings and joy. She was certainly atop the naughty list this year. Cheers lads.
2020-12-26 14:45:05 +0000 UTCThe Chad and JT influence coming through! Appresh the vulnerability guys 🤌🏼
2020-12-26 14:26:43 +0000 UTCthis is so unnecessary lol

2020-12-26 13:10:47 +0000 UTCNoel, I say this as both a psychologist and someone who's been in therapy in the past, the growth you're talking about is so healthy and good and genuinely makes me really proud to see. I hope you guys find a way to satisfy the itch you were talking about, but know that we'll be here rooting for you regardless. And also, thank you so much for all the content put out this year, it's helped and made people happy more than you know. Hope y'all are having a good holiday season
shanz
2020-12-26 13:09:47 +0000 UTCI've spent so much of my teen and young adult years consuming so much YouTube and internet shit and it feels so good to have people dissect and talk about the patterns I've also come to notice, but you guys do it in a way that feels so spot on and like intelligent/thought out. I really appreciate the effort you guys make to avoid bullshiting us fans. Love y'all so hard <33
2020-12-26 12:53:13 +0000 UTCloved the episodes this week guys 🥰❤️ thanks for always keepin it real
2020-12-26 12:29:09 +0000 UTCThis was fucking great guys. Love to see some real shit ❤️

2020-12-26 10:08:55 +0000 UTCwhether the 14 year olds lose interest or not, i hope you know that you have a lot of loyal people that love and appreciate what you guys do and i hope that you guys continue to make people happy through your content. The openness is great because with amount of shit online now, i think it helps people understand that you are dealing with the same shit so many others are also dealing with this year. i appreciate the hard work you guys put in and you deserve the success youve gotten. keep going and ill keep watching. all love
Ben
2020-12-26 08:57:28 +0000 UTCgreat episode boys. Ive been watching since Cody was on drunk questions with Jimmy Tatro. Been on the patreon since episode 1. I think about the amount that I personally have changed since that point and it is crazy. To not change and grow through that amount of time whether it be career/content based or personally is impossible. I'm 25 now and you guys are some of the only internet creators that have really stuck with me. Ive appreciated your honesty and authenticity
Ben
2020-12-26 08:51:09 +0000 UTCYou guys are the best! Don’t listen to the haters. You’re funnier every single day. Keep growing boys. As for the sealift, “can I get a picture with the vomit?”

2020-12-26 08:44:20 +0000 UTCI appreciate you guys. Loved this episode. Happy Holidays.

2020-12-26 08:12:44 +0000 UTCReally enjoyed this episode. It was really helpful into gaining perspective as a viewer. It made me think about certain things in my own life. Please do more like this in the future when it feels right/necessary. Love all the recent stuff as well. Thanks boys
2020-12-26 06:35:43 +0000 UTCLove you guys and love the episode. Thank you for opening up to us it takes a lot to do that. Just know that for many of us this isn’t a one way street, we genuinely care for you guys and are here to support you through it all. Personally, I haven’t noticed a dip in quality over this past year at all. It’s been different but you guys are still funnier than ever and are doing fresh good shit. Noels higher production/concept stuff is phenomenal as well as his growth on twitch and so much more and Cody’s solo podcast, bad boys treat show and videos are fucking awesome. All your new content together is kickass also. You have such a big, dedicated and solid viewership for a reason boys. It’s not bc of that’s cringe or love island or your live shows (though I love them all) it’s because YOU are incredibly talented, hard-working, creative and have a genuine connection with your fans. No matter what you do next, no matter how long it takes to figure that out, that won’t go away and you’ll still have our support.
2020-12-26 06:34:33 +0000 UTC2021 they return to programming to build the striking vipers vr experience
2020-12-26 05:17:19 +0000 UTCi feel like honestly yes people will still appreciate long form content i think as you mature you eventually become more interested in more adult content. i enjoy watching netflix shows equally to content like yours and i think there will always a balance and like noel said they will always be people who appreciate art and film
Emma Caplan
2020-12-26 03:25:33 +0000 UTCwow that comment about Philion. I totally thought about that when he started his current upload schedule. He goes after people in sort of a negative way (of course most of them deserve it) but the focus of most of his videos now is baggin on people. A lot like Cody used to. And i get how Cody doesn't like doing that any more because although it's easy to make content that way, it may be more mentally draining. Philion is a different individual of course but i hope he doesn't go too far off the deep end with calling people out and roasting them
John Ficek
2020-12-26 03:11:23 +0000 UTCI love you guys.
John Ficek
2020-12-26 03:05:25 +0000 UTClove you guys
2020-12-26 00:04:05 +0000 UTCUsing cursed words from your past lives: you guys are up against a choke point, where you have no choice but to pivot and iterate your way out!!! In all seriousness though, thank you both for being honest. I don't think anyone with a shred of humanity and compassion would fault you both if you took a year (or more!) off to re-calibrate your life. The pandemic has been hard on everyone for different reasons, and every human is deserves the opportunity and dignity of figuring themselves out privately. Do what you gotta do for your own mental health. I appreciate Cody uploading a video where he cries honestly-- it's genuine and real, and I enjoyed the good excuse to cry a little. Noel, the opening of your talk show was so fun and delightful-- the comedic timing in that entire video was so good. In regards to the YouTube curated page, I think you both could also reflect on how you and your peers helped establish a format (commentary videos) that a new generation is using (though it unfortunately has a weird commercial stank to it) to establish themselves on both YouTube and TikTok. (Maybe take a break and checkout the new Bee Gees documentary that came out on HBO Max? It touches upon on the burnout experienced from a long-running creative group over throughout several entertainment booms where the public does not always respond positively to creatives being creative.)

2020-12-25 23:18:28 +0000 UTCyou guys make me feel okay when i think everything else is going to shit. the things you create have such a positive impact, i hope you know that.
2020-12-25 22:53:56 +0000 UTCI enjoyed the honesty in this episode. Y’all should do more of it
2020-12-25 22:39:03 +0000 UTCI really appreciated this episode and the realness of it. I’ve been watching you guys for years now and I’ve honestly never thought “damn they fell off” or “they not as funny anymore”. Yeah, that’s cringe was some peak shit, but I don’t feel like it takes anything away from the shit you guys create now. Because at the end, you guys are the essential factor. It doesn’t even matter what type of video you’re making, it’s your humor and jokes on that topic that can make a video good no matter what it’s about. Love you guys, stay true to yourselfs, keep on soulsearching and working on bettering yourselfs, but only for you
Yasmin Prince
2020-12-25 22:29:57 +0000 UTCIts the fact that you guys question and analyze this stuff that makes me love everything you guys do so much. Love this episode and you guys. Soon enough we'll be vaccinated and you guys can tour at your leisure. Hope to see you guys then!

2020-12-25 22:18:33 +0000 UTCthank you to both of you for being a big support in my life you guys always manage to make me feel better and you guys are doing amazing honestly i'm so proud of you both<3 also merry christmas to both of you and to all the meatlets love you all<3
2020-12-25 21:38:08 +0000 UTCReading the comments already, it seems like a lot of other people already said the same thing. But I just have to agree.. I mean, the conversation about the Yt trending page was interesting, but your take on that is EXACTLY what makes you guys such good content creators and entertainers. The desire to improve and try making new content is very much visible and appreciated since you guys DO exactly that! The cooking, noels hot rod interview, etc. is the kind of new and different content that we love, so please.. keep it up.

2020-12-25 18:43:02 +0000 UTCBoys y'all question yourselves too much. It's part of this year to do that. Both of your content is so personality driven that I feel like you don't have to worry about innovating, or new content creators catching up with you. You're always gonna innovate, whether y'all feel like it is happening or not. Chin up, bc for a lot of people you have been a breath of fresh air in so many fields and you still are in the eyes of lots of people. Even in this weird ass year y'all managed to publish some of your best content, solo and together.
Martijn Bloemhof
2020-12-25 18:11:03 +0000 UTClol people will always want longform content. as tiktoks get more popular so do Podcasts. what's more likely to happen is that in reaction to things being so short, people will start making really long videos and that will be a trend then when everythings too long another wave of short content.
Creamer
2020-12-25 17:55:47 +0000 UTCthank u guys so much for being vulnerable with us, i'm going through he exact same feelings stuck in this COVID shit storm. And thanks noel for opening up about you past, that shit is not easy to bring up for sure. You guys are the best, happy holidays!!!

2020-12-25 17:40:22 +0000 UTCthis has to be one of my favorite episodes. you guys are always very open and transparent and that’s what makes u great people. growth, healing and maturity comes as time goes on and i’m glad it does. i feel like i’ve grown/changed and it matches up with the content you guys make. i’m glad you’re saying how you sometimes don’t always feel like you have a grip on everything, because no one does. this episode is point blank why i’ve been a fan for so long

2020-12-25 17:38:33 +0000 UTCReally really enjoyed this episode. Thank you guys for continuing to provide us with quality content and for growing as creators. I enjoyed hearing about all of the thought that goes into creating, and the vulnerabilities and crossroads you guys are facing. Growth can be painful but it's better than saying stagnant and stale. Appreciate you guys! Merry Christmas!

2020-12-25 12:48:08 +0000 UTCLove you guys. Thanks for a great episode
2020-12-25 11:23:14 +0000 UTCI enjoyed listening to you guys get serious for a bit. I feel like as a listener I could tell y'all were going through these changes and it was nice to hear you talk about it in depth. At the end of the day you two are humans having the most normal experience of growing and changing. Some might perceive the growth as you guys not being as funny as you used to be while others will grow with you. Dont feel bad about not being the same exact people you were 2 years ago.

2020-12-25 09:12:50 +0000 UTCYo maybe you guys need a few days break. You’re sounding a little burnt out. Regardless tho, imma keep watching whatever you do it’ll never get old for me. Plus I wouldn’t worry about tik tok given the audience and the majority age. From a random person’s perspective, it always looks to me like you guys are absolutely killing it and I’m pretty sure all your fans are super loyal. Much love I think you guys will never stop being hilarious. You’ve continually brought me so much joy in the past couple years ❤️

(but at the same time love how you balance that with staying true to yourselves idk how to explain it but you guys feel so familiar even if your jokes might feel a little different) if i look back at the entertainment i consumed five years ago, it’s so different than what i would enjoy today so i feel like the small (or even big) changes that you’re making right now are helping us grow with you as an audience, instead of eventually growing out of the content. initially came for the love island commentary & jake paul roasts but ended up staying for these bonus episodes where you keep it 100% real. honestly respect your work and always will.

2020-12-25 07:17:27 +0000 UTCloved the episode! Thanks y'all for opening up, I've been watching you guys since the insanely chill days and while y'all have both changed I still love the content you guys make and would rather you guys be authentic to who you are and make things that you're passionate about than losing your authenticity and making stuff because you guys feel like you have to. Thanks for keeping it real, and thank you noel for talking about your experience in therapy, it's making me want to start going again hearing about how it's helping you. Happy holidays !

2020-12-25 06:37:17 +0000 UTCReally cool to open up for a bit. Y'all worked hard to get to this point over 2-3 years to go on a world tour like 80-90 shows over the course of a year...then boom immediately slowed down for 7-8 month. It's a crazy way to navigate to this newer age of content creators/influencers. I personally think y'all are finding ways to innovate do more things off of commentary videos into more real world projects and being guests on other shows and podcasts is great to see. I think that's a great move because the best thing you guys have is your self-awareness and authenticity. Those things will never lose their value. Hell they might be the most valuable things people have nowadays. Anyways, happy holidays boys.

2020-12-25 05:56:37 +0000 UTC💯% agree I’m proud of everything they have done, together and individually and like how you said the lasting power because I see people come and go really fast nowadays. I don’t think people understand that podcasting is hard and to talk for two hours and keep it entertaining. I can’t even make a convo with my family lmao.

2020-12-25 05:39:33 +0000 UTCPersonally as far as content moving forward I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE to eventually see you guys do something similar to “Nathan for you” or “how to with John Wilson” I think that type of semi-scripted comedy with lots of improv would fit you guys so well!! Also Merry Christmas everybody!

2020-12-25 05:29:17 +0000 UTCloved this episode. really appreciate how authentic and honest it was. it felt therapeutic in a way... the chat about self reflection and growing as a person is nice to hear because I've felt that this year. it's been great to see you experiment with different content over the years but still feel the same chill, genuine vibe

2020-12-25 05:25:12 +0000 UTCYou guys are so much funnier than you were before. You have to have gem bits like squat 680 and other bits that are highlights but you guys are so funny. But even if your not as funny this year has been fucking shit. Either way I’m still loveing my little riblets

2020-12-25 04:58:53 +0000 UTCi think the difference between you guys and all those people on the trending page is that you guys have lasting power because of the type of content you guys make and how genuine your guys’ dynamic feels, whereas people like james charles and those other tik tok creators have to collab and work with other people constantly to stay in the spotlight, and in turn, makes it feel like co-workers more than actual friends. also ngl that tangent you guys went on made me feel a bit bad for you guys. hopefully y’all are taking good care of your mental health
