Bonus Ep 62 - Happy Holidays, Ya Filthy Animals

how to succeed in YouTube without really trying

Comments

Love this shit

Rob Krueger

Honestly!!

Mercy

The way that you guys are real and not corny and not trying to do things like James Charles just to stay ahead instead of doing what would blow your numbers up is the reason I love y’all you guys are truly ducking awesome and care about your fans.

Mercy

I wanna say this and I think I speak for a lot of people. I honestly seem u guys on Instagram Once fell in love with the humor , then saw your videos from my brother. And I honestly just loved everything about it. You guys are amazing and I think you should push yourself to what u don’t wanna do. You guys could stop touring and stop doing YouTube and just podcast and I’d fucking still listen and support you guys. This year has been hard on everyone and comedians can get so depressed so easy just by the pressure of being funny and always producing things to make people happy. You guys are fucking hilarious and if u don’t wanna be corny fuck that shit fuck the hate they can lick a dick. Y’all are the man equivalent of a bad bitch 😆. I love and respect y’all 💗

Mercy

We keep listening because you guys are pushing out stuff that you feel is real, and we like that. I’m tired of hearing the same bs all the time. I appreciate this episode

been a fan for forever and you guys just keep doing what you want to! it’s you guys that have people coming back, not necessarily a specific type of content :)

I really loved this episode. no need to apologize for being real, it’s honestly really nice to see the “funny guys” being authentic and transparent. i’ve watched you guys since high school and now i’m in college and feeling a little lost and unsure of the future. it’s so refreshing to see rapidly growing creators remain humble and open about feeling a loss of direction despite your level of success.. if anything i think it makes you even more relatable. everything you guys have put out is with the sole intention of entertaining us and never to capitalize off of us and i think it’s part of what makes your relationship with the audience so special. anyways, keep doing what you’re doing, we’ll love y’all no matter what. happy new year, boys <3

Always always down to hear what you guys have to say, especially the real talk. You two guys make my commute to work so much better! One of the best bone zone episodes this year

Nate Harvey

I cant believe Noel apologized so much for talking as if we all don't want to hear all of it

Matt

I don’t think ripping on people is a bad thing, because most of these creators nowadays need the criticism because they’re putting out really terrible content for kids and the youth

Damn I really got high to listen to this episode and all y’all did was get me in my feels

haloxwill

You guys are so eager to innovate with live touring. Right now you guys could be planning that. Here’s what you guys need. Take a weekend away. You guys are in SoCal so just head to big bear or somewhere nice. Get a cabin for you and Cody in the snow and just brainstorm. You can hike, build snowman, have deep passionate sex with eachothers hairy body’s, or whatever else helps you increase your creativity.

haloxwill

Good ep, +rep. Anyways, gonna get some kfc now

Kartofla

definitely think you’re on to the attention span thing. I’m 21 and my younger brother is 15 and only consumes YouTube videos, TikToks, and hockey/football/baseball games. he told me once that he couldn’t imagine watching a tv show that lasts 30-45 minutes

Saylor

This was an incredible episode! Thank you so much for your vulnerability Cody and Noel. I really appreciate it, this is truly a special podcast and it means a lot to me to hear you two being vulnerable.

Hugh Zehr

Great episode. You guys are human, and your fans understand that. Keep killing it! That being said... mid life crisis type beat

Ty Handley

this ep made me wanna give you guys a hug🥺 I just want you to know that you have tons of listeners that are dedicated and will be fans no matter what. my roommates and I watch everything you guys do religiously and we literally feel like you’re our friends. it might make take some time to get back into a groove or whatever but change is good and everyone is going through the same kinda thing this year. I used to be an event planner but i’m going back to school to become a chiropractor lol. anyway no need to apologize for your content, we love you guys!!!

Emily Sandel

It’s so admirable how personal you guys are will to get and how open you guys are with your audience/fans. You both are such incredible creators and entertainers; thank you for being yourselves. You’ll always have love and support from me and many, many others. ❤️

Honestly I think ya’ll are being too hard on yourselves. What Noel said about having too much time to reflect is spot on. Cuz I’m doing the same thing ya’ll are and nitpicking everything I do. You’re still killing it and always will.

Joseph Medina

This is why we love you guys.

Porter Stevens

I appreciate y’all opening up like this, don’t assume that your listeners don’t wanna hear stuff like this. Having conversations about your progressions as creators is natural and it’s natural that you’ll change as you get older and grow as people. Your listeners wanna hear what you have to say whether it’s conversations like this or a Squat 680 joke and your listeners appreciate content even if it’s changing or not what you’re used to

this is my favorite episode in a while. you both are making great content recently and people can tell that you are being more genuinely yourselves.

It's easy to feel like you're in a rut, that you aren't creating like you used to, but remember that this year was perhaps the most difficult and strange year you will ever experience. I hope you guys find your groove again soon.

we definitely notice your respect for your fans, none of your content over feels like a “sell out” or “content farm” and that doesn’t go unappreciated

Lindsey

love when you guys get deep, not to just be that guy but I know a lot of people who think you guys are the funniest ever. i know you guys are going to be successful with whatever you do and I’m excited to see what’s in the future for you guys.

This episode feels like I’m talking with my friends that I haven’t been able to see in over a year.

Gregorio Leon

You guys are so genuine. Thank you for sharing all of this with us guys. We all love and support y’all!!

This episode was awesome. You guys are the best

Don’t feel like you have to say sorry for getting real like that. Honestly the people who listen to your podcast love it because we get to see behind the scenes and get to know you/where you’re at/your aspirations better. And one of the reasons I’ve followed you guys so long is how down to earth you are (amidst the jokes obv). Definitely feel the respect you have for us, and that makes us respect you back! The only thing I’ve noticed about Noel forcing the jokes or not hitting the same anymore, is that instead of diving into a joke spontaneously, you often preface it with something like “this is a bit Im thinking about”, which makes it sound more calculated than genuine. But honestly I’ve been loving it and still laughing every time, and generally just enjoy this time with you guys every week. Keep it up! xx

came to make sure everyone was also saying they enjoyed this podcast, would def rather a real convo over something pushed. it’s been nice watching y’all grow as people, I’ve been following you guys for a minute and all the content has been nice bc ur personalities in general are enjoyable

Jacqueline Gormley

I love the genuine convo you guys had. Good for you noel for opening up and cody for understanding and being supportive

Steve Marshalek

Great podcast, I think it’s important to distinguish between making moves solely to forward your career versus making moves to forward and evolve your craft. Creators who only care about being relevant are gonna have really high turnover rates with their fans something that you guys won’t ever have a problem with.

Insightful episode, thanks meat boys 👍

This might be the best episode y’all have ever done.

Texie

I don't think you guys are missing anything, I think you found your pocket. The podcast is huge, and I think it's great to take it seriously and keep doing what you're doing. You already "made moves". It's time to be comfortable ❤ If you guys decide that you want to do more things then you can do that, but you don't have or need to. Also I really like the Cody and Noel do series, it's lighthearted and funny, which every single one of us could enjoy especially this year!

Thank you for letting us listen to where yours guys’ heads are at! I hate that people don’t understand how times are changing and that you guys are trying to grow. We understand that it is time to move on from things like that’s cringe and love island but the general public/people who don’t keep tabs on y’all don’t get it. Just wanna slap them silly for being dumb asses:D I know I speak for myself and many others, I will support you both for as long as you stay on the internet. Your guys’ self awareness of this is something that shows that you care and respect us just as much as we respect and care about y’all! Big big love to u dudes💓

As a long time follower, I love episodes like this. I still remember exactly where I was when you first talked about anxiety on the pod and how much it resonated with me. Thank you for your openness and I hope y’all know how much laughter you bring every week! Keep it up, meatlets.

Loved this episode!!! I think conversations like this are really important and I related to it a lot :) ty!!

Really enjoyed this ep, a window into the private life without intruding on you guys. Good stuff. I hope the pressure gets relieved.

Hey I really liked this pod because of the self reflection. I don’t want to have this come off the wrong way but there is so just much room for growth within just TMG content alone. I’ve listened to tons of podcasts but only tune into TMG and Bad Friends Podcast on a weekly basis. Bringing in weekly segments like relationship advice and what not is definitely something you can expand on. Also, the videos that aren’t podcasts on the TMG channel have been very exciting and definitely seems like a whole new avenue to explore.

Will

I only really discovered you guys at the start of quarantine but you’ve quickly become my favorite two people on the Internet. This has got to be my favorite episode. Hope one day I’ll be able to see a live show. But until then, you guys keep it up. I have so much respect for the two of you

that was deep take a break boys damn I'm good with a couple weeks off if you guys can rest and innovate

Shit was so depressing

this one kind of reminded me of "1985- intro to the fall off" by j. cole, but kind of like they're on both sides, so thats why they're "floating." they've kind of collided and know the momentum isn't gone, but put into multiple directions? idk. im not gonna say or tell them how they feel, just kind of how I interpreted it. good podcast though, I admire they're passion for creating something for someone to love and laugh at

Simon Phipps

Guys, just keep innovating, all your recent work has been great and you're clearly testing new waters and figuring out what your next direction is gonna be. I'd take you two in a rut any day over James Charles and Jake Paul and all these tik tok kids in in their prime.

Dale Stafford

Noel that thing you do makes the show, that's what I'm here for. I love that you have so much to say haha I can relate

Heidi Hartman

This podcast has been such a constant in my life for almost the last 3 years it’s been dope to see you guys evolve into the creators you guys are, and whatever it is it’s always been interesting since I can tell anything you guys do comes from a genuine place to create and to also have fun at the same time, it’s just cool to see

I remember watching the episodes in Cody’s apartment, and to think you guys got here right where you joked you would be, is really cool. It’s weird but cool to see y’all speak from a heartfelt place. Noel got heart.

Josiah Martin

Merry Pre-Christmas bois

also if i’m gonna say you’re not funny ima just say it on patreon not under a reddit thread with a bunch of angry people that are waiting to hop onto a hate bandwagon. hell i commented on an episode a couple weeks ago that i thought sucked😂😂 it happens. also these other influencers or youtubers you guys are talking about and comparing to, aren’t comics. they’re not in the comedy scene. it’s different. y’all gotta remember your guys fans are not the same type of humans as those fans. idk what i’m really saying i just hate you guys hearing you be so hard on yourself in a wild ass year full of crazy new media and shit. you’ll be ight

StonedColdSteveAustin

i respect wanting to keep your pockets open for other people that’s just business baby but you def lost some edge at least publicly, and shit maybe the jokes ain’t hitting the same but to your point you guys in LA have been legit locked up so it gets boring and stale. coming from a longtime patron i still love you guys still think you’re super funny. just relax a bit, remember it’s comedy, it’s your life. live it how you want guys i’ll still be here to support

StonedColdSteveAustin

This was my favorite episode in a very long time maybe ever

stephen lewis

Noel I really appreciated the talk on self hatred I definitely relate to that and feels good to hear the people I really support talk about it, also i do agree that your humor has changed but it’s been in a good way, it’s growth and you guys shouldn’t feel concerned about it cause we still love hearing and watching your content

stephen lewis

In the least corny way, this was really 100. People who really watch y’all are growing too and appreciate someone who’s on that same path. Shoutout to y’all for being able to make jokes about another mans meat and your own feelings. That’s real life and sustainable.

Ive been watching Cody since you were on vine (I was 14) and noel shortly after Cody transitioned to youtube. I'm 21 now. I can honestly say that from then to now I have consistently remained entertained and felt like I've grown with you guys and your content. It would get old if you were doing the same thing you were when I was 14 compared to now. So its good to change, try new things, etc. And dont worry if it feels like some new videos or jokes don't hit as hard as maybe the That's Cringe episodes- its Covid so everyones kind of off their game a little and the entire landscape for content has changed this year. Also I really think that Thats Cringe can be adapted to provide commentary on sooo many other things not just dumb Jake Paul content so please don't feel like you can't keep doing things that were really successful in the past like Thats Cringe. The stuff that made Thats Cringe funny was you two making jokes and bouncing off one another, which you guys still have and can apply to all types of videos & commentary.

deb

You have such a big and solid viewership for a reason boys. It’s not bc of that’s cringe or love island or your live shows (though I love them all) it’s because YOU are incredibly talented, hard-working, creative and have a genuine connection with your fans. No matter what you do next, no matter how long it takes to figure that out, that won’t go away and you’ll still have our support.

Super nice episode guys, great to hear about the men behind the meat

Conor

Great episode guys. Loved the real talk

Y’all are concerned about something very real. BUT the entertainers that y’all look up to, only concern themselves with shit they like. Y’all are creative types, be creative and have some fun. Then you won’t give a shit what some turd on Reddit says. Y’all are still funny as hell. Chins up and keep having fun, and we’ll keep tuning in.

Stephen Crowell

Hey Noel, I've been watching since the start and just wanted to say don't feel like you guys are changing, y'all still sound the same to me, sure your jokes might change and your humour might evolve but that's part of growing up. You guys are doing great work and still killing it. I know covid fucked with us all but don't doubt yourselves as entertainers

Omar Issa

I’ve been watching both of you guys since your vine days and whatever you’re feeling it’s natural. This is exactly how you grow and become better you contemplate on yourselves and who you are as a person. You guys are just fine the way you are. Just focus on yourselves and do this as long as you feel happy and satisfied to do it. Love you both and your team. All the best to both of you

This one was pretty real. I feel like you guys have been here before though, I remember a very old podcast when you guys felt the same, maybe not to this extent. But Noel is really trying to do new things, and Cody is doing his videos on the second channel, it seems like you guys have the right idea. Don’t listen to the people that say “these guys are different now” or “they aren’t funny” who gives a shit. I know you want to keep people around, and it sucks when people fade away, but with the people who leave, maybe more will take their place.

I am such a fucking simp I love when you guys expand and try new things. I have watched the baking video so many times and I die for Cody's series of sweet tooth.

calla~

I love the deep talk podcast man. Never got why people don't like seeing people's content grow as the creator grows.

Aaron Bacchus

This was one of my favourite episodes. you guys are interesting people, we don't always want to hear jokes. You guys can talk about any shit and we will listen

bruno pagano

I know you guys are entertainers on the internet and we’re just complete strangers but we really do love you guys and will support you in anything you do
