I live in Austin and someone’s tire fell off their car and hit me on the freeway

To me San Bernardino itself is depressing af, but there's a LOT of free land in the Inland Empire. They could get a spot in Corona that's less than an hour drive to anywhere in LA, pretty much no traffic outside of rush hour, and with enough land for Noel's go-kart course for cheap. Literally the drive from the IE to Hollywood takes just as long as the drive from Venice Beach to Hollywood, but with less traffic on the way.

City of Industry specifically is low key popping with important manufacturers for all kinds of shit (like shoes, cosmetic packaging). If you wanna go surfing you can visit Tofino for the weekend or you can take up snowboarding/skiing in the local mountains. You saw the view bbno$ had from its condo, it's great here! Also you guys have dual citizenship and it should be zero issue for your girlfriends to get work visa's or Permanent Residence.
