Cody, as someone who grew up in LA and became houseless in my teens, I just wanted to share the impact that the "tent exodus" rhetoric has on people who have been genuinely affected. My mom worked a full-time job and we became unable to afford housing; as a result, we had to subjugate ourselves to multiple abusive situations to prevent ourselves from being part of the growing tent problem you speak of. Crime, drugs, and dirt are not new to LA, the issues are now just becoming less segregated due to soaring rent prices, COVID complications, and more. I love this podcast and admire you both very much, but this was genuinely painful to hear. Just please keep in mind there are people within those tents and behind those crime statistics that have been more affected by these issues than you. It's a trauma that stays with you forever and a humanitarian crisis that must be solved through activism and legislation, not abandonment.

I don't think that he's trying to portray a personality and camouflage as some normal bro. In fact I think both Cody and Noel demonstrate a high level of self awareness and humility despite the fact that they both have every right to be like every other run of the mill content creator douchebag bragging about collecting cash. I really wasn't trying to call him out or anything, just making a shitpost comment poking at him. Part of what makes Cody enjoyable as a creator is how he could be this pretentious ass because of the things he's done (Duke education, Olympic athletic ability, successful business ventures), but he rarely ever brings it up and instead let's the accomplishments speak for themselves and maintains a private personal life.
