There's a Britney megathread titled "the mystery surrounding Britney Spears" on r/unresolvedmysteries on this site called like, "Read It", "Réddé"? Something like that, I don't remember. Anyway, under "top" I think it's the first one. But TL;DR she is under a conservatorship and people question whether it's needed, but the bigger issue is that her father (who is... not a great person, it seems, and has a restraining order against him from her kids, but throughout her career didn't seem to have her best interests at heart to put it lightly) is in charge of it. Under a conservatorship, she can't vote, can't go out, post on social media, etc. etc. without permission. So it's a huge amount of control usually reserved for severely disabled people turning 18 who can't take care of themselves. And yet, she was touring all throughout the conservatorship, so it's like - is she able to do stuff or not? It goes much deeper than that, though. Also on the topic of conservatorships, there's a really good video about them by YouTuber Jessica Kellgren-Fozard covering why they can be kind of problematic in general.

about putting out candle fire with water - you absolutely can do that. you shouldn't use water for cases where there is a chemical fire and the elements can go into a reaction with H2O. however the O in H2O is not unstable enough to actually make a candle fire worse. Why do you think firefighters use waters to put out certain types of fires? Britney's dad has controlled her for like 12 years since she had a 'mental breakdown' years ago and was admitted to a psych ward. He's her legal conservator and has control of all her assets. She doesn't have custody of her children, she can't get married, etc. A lot of people think there are hidden messages in her IG posts. She recently asked the courts to end the conservatorship.
