Sydney has had 2 lockdowns. Melbourne has had 6 snap lock downs which last 1 to 2 weeks. And we didn’t have enough vaccines. We also didn’t have any cases for like 9 months.

Aussie in Sydney, lockdown keeps getting extended, cases are rising daily. The plan seems to be a lockdown/restriction situation until the population reaches approx 60-70% vaccinated. The issue was that initially the government didn't secure enough vaccines to cover the population, and so the majority couldn't get vaccinated. Now there are enough, but the majority of the vaccines are AZ, whereas people want Pfizer so there's a large amount of hesitancy. We were doing so well back in 2020, then the government got complacent with vaccines and fumbled the bag altogether. Also: Congrats on 200, you guys are killing it! Gotta ask, bbno$ collab when? Or any of the artists in that circle

Listening from Melbourne, lockdown almost feels normal at this point. Even when we get out of lockdown there is so many restrictions on everything so we never really actually get out of lockdown.

i’m from aus and majority of people under 30 aren’t able to get vaccinated because we aren’t “eligible” right now because there’s a vaccine shortage it’s SO frustrating going in and out of lockdowns

Aussie in Sydney - Our government has completely bungled our vaccine rollout with constantly changing advice, and banked the entire vaccination rollout program on Astra Zeneca, without a contingency plan if things went tits up. Pfizer is now recommended for anyone under 40, but not enough supply was ordered, so people who actually want to get vaccinated can’t go and get it. Plus, this latest string of lockdowns have all come from holes in the hotel quarantine system which the government also fails to fix. It fucking sucks, but grateful that compared to US or UK our cases are low and minimal lives have been lost.

Hey guys, Australian living in Sydney here The majority do want to get vaccinated it’s just difficult for most to get an apportionment. Most people want Pfizer and there isn’t enough of a supply to meet the demand. It is supposed to become available in October and until then everyone is eligible to get AstraZeneca but a lot of people are hesitant.
