I'm from where Mare of Easttown takes place & was filmed. Easttown’s in Chester County, not Delco so idrk what the word with that is, but I live in ChestCo and went to school in Delco so obviously they’re not too far from each other. I've only watched a couple of episodes so far but the accent is fairly overdone imo. However, the culture of Philly sports & wawa are pretty accurate, they’re genuinely staples in the community. However, Chester County is a really nice area so idk why they’re portraying it as some weird, woodsy Ozark-feel place. Some areas of Delco are among the wealthiest in PA and others are fairly dangerous & rundown, it just depends. Something kinda cool though is Mare’s daughter wears my high school uniform in the show. Not the top, but the plaid/tartan kilt. I think my HS was the only private school in the area with “Delco” in the name so that’s why they chose it.

cw: emetophobia, i was laughin so much but also disgusted that i genuinely feel i might have vomiting going on now hahahaha. i genuinely need to take a break cause a feel sick xx can kinda understand feeling vindicated about the motion sickness stuff hahaha. at uni a few years ago, one of my friend’s boyfriend brought half life 2 round for me to have a go at. lads, i genuinely had the worst motion sickness of my life. i've felt fine even with the bosnian lads at the waltzers spinning them wee cup hings like mental, i discovered i only get motion sickness through old 1st person games. had to be sick, felt absolutely fucked and tried to attempt it again but it wisnae happenin cause i was motion sick again haha. my flatmate googled it and she said how there's a bunch ae folk saying they would get motion sick from that game, discovering they had it for the first time. a swear man that game started something in me cause when a went to our uni's game showcase or something like that a year later, some students made a VR game + a got motion sick AGAIN. god gave me a second chance right there to turn from the gaming path x
