Shifting is something akin to pretending so hard it’s real think of a tulpa( a imaginary friend you let control some aspects of your life). In the real world practicing something like this could lead to mental issues like becoming detached from reality. The fact that teenagers are doing this is even worse since they are still mentally developing. From my experience as a chaos magic practitioner when you open yourself up into universe through ritual you are very likely going to have changes in other parts of your life you weren’t expecting. Literally, anyone can be one (assuming you're not trying to appropriate closed or sacred practices), it's just a practice. For anyone that doesn't know, sage is a sacred plant amongst many indigenous people and I'm sure there is quite a bit of erasure or attempted erasure of native practices. I know they weren't saying indigenous people invite demons, but... people will just makeup anything or rely on information from Amino. There are POC witches that have had to deal with white "witChes arE OpRESsED ToO" witches who constantly appropriate spiritual. or "witchcraft" practices from their culture. I was there during the live, Noel didn't say anything that bad (chat, on the other hand, was a little rude) lmao. I swear some people just want to be oppressed.
