I’m late but I thought the convo about the way social media used to be was really fucking interesting. This time has made me reflect a lot on how it’s function for everyone has changed over my life and I know it was jokes but I def feel a yearn to go back to when shit online was simple and stupid and benign like I think there was a real beauty to that. For me a big part of trying to get back that or at least make things more positive is like trying to be less “self aware” about it, like if I want to post something but then I’m like “oh it’s boring” or “who cares” I try to ignore those thoughts. It’s good to check yourself obviously but I dunno, maybe there’s something to being really sincere and posting about the boring shit like your meal or like pictures of the sky or whatever. Just simple shit that made you happy in the moment. Sorry I’m rambling, point is y’all really hit on something we all feel and I wanted to speak on it as it’s been on my mind a lot. There’s definitely something to embracing that benign sincerity of the way the internet used to be. Thanks for reading y’all be safe.
