Berghain used to be, and still is, a gay-sex club. There a numerous cases of straight guys being roofied and ending up in the toilets getting fucked in the ass. There used to be a big aids problem in there which is why 80% of the people going there are tourists that don't know what kind of club it is. For people that grew up in Berlin and in the techno scene it is not as hard to come in as it is for americans especially. The techno is okay, and the sound is really good but if you want to party there are better clubs in berlin especially for foreigners. Unless you are into gay sex...
