crazy to hear you guys mention kevin hart’s burbank Flapper’s shows, my girl’s dad has worked there for a decade and we got free tickets to see him on his first night there like a year ago!! half of the material was unfinished and raw, he prefaced the show saying he was testing different endings and punchlines to his stories to see what stuck. it was so authentic and he still ended up killing it. probably 50 people max in the room and we got to sit 10ft away from the stage. he didn’t even have an end to his closing story, just took a seat and told us how he wants it to end and what point he’s trying to close out with. never been to a stand up show before and it was an unbelievable experience to see him try and work things out right in front of us. super grateful I got to experience that hour in its infancy
