I meant to comment this in the last episode but I'd love to hear you guys talk about music more. Noel's take on that Earl track, talking about how it's like a creative expression of what it feels like to be stuck in a rut, really made me see the song in a new light and made me love it, when it was actually my least favorite song on the album till then. Mark Smith if it's any consolation, I'm Schizo and I'm about to get my bachelor's from MIT. I see them goofs on twitter and it's too funny for me to be annoyed. I have been in support groups with the homeless, the almost-homeless, and yeah it's heartbreaking shit (not to dampen the mood lol). I tweeted a graphic at noel and TMG from NAMI showing incidence of schizo onset vs age, yeah onset is pretty common well into your 30's. I hear LSD has strong statistical co-incidence with the triggering of schizophrenic onset, but would be interested to see relevant stats on marijuana as well. THC and CBD use does have qualitative studies for hallucinogenic effects, which would suggest some common gross-neurogenic symptom or conditional cascades. AFAIK, the research into causality is still pretty immature. But what do I know, grade-A nutter right here lol

Also totally agree with that disdain of people who just throw out “omg I’m so crazy/bipolar” after working with these people 5-6 days a week and seeing what it has the possibility to do to their lives, it’s annoys the fuck out of me. Some of these people can’t even function on their own. They become homeless and desolate and forgotten about. People think they’re monsters but they all have a story and they’re still people. It’s truly helped me realize that it can always be worse and we should all be grateful af for what we have. Sorry to dampen the mood 😅😅

Regarding the Schizophrenia part, as a case Manager I work with people with that disorder as well as schizoaffective disorder and not to put bad thoughts in your head Noel but there is still a chance it could develop in your later years. I have worked with clients where it developed in later adulthood. Just be aware my friend, and to make matters worse marijuana does have the potential to trigger it. 😅 Just thought I’d pass that along.
