LairLauncher Dev Update: Multi-Console, Multi-View, Fully Dynamic
Added 2025-10-02 21:16:31 +0000 UTCBig update on LairLauncher!
I just uploaded a new video showcasing several major improvements, this is shaping up to be the most powerful and flexible frontend for Android handhelds yet. Here’s what’s new:
🎮 Multi-Console Experience
You can now create multiple entries for the same console, each pointing to a different directory. This is perfect for users who organize ROMs by region, genre, or collection type.
Want a “USA SNES” tab and a “JP SNES” tab? Done.
Want to split your library by hacks vs. originals? Easy.
🗂️ Custom Console Views
Every console tab now supports switching between different views with a controller:
Grid View
Horizontal Carousel
Vertical Carousel
Condensed List View
All with full preview support and navigable using your gamepad.
🧩 Full ROM Customization
Each ROM entry can now be individually customized:
Choose whether it appears in the list or remains hidden.
Select which screen it should launch on by default (main or external).
Assign a companion app to open on the opposite screen, for example, launch Chrome with a guide on one screen and the game on the other.
Add it as a shortcut to the main screen
This opens up powerful workflows for dual-screen users.
🔍 Dynamic Layout Resizing
Every UI element (ROM card, carousel item, list entry) can be resized to better fit your device, whether it’s a compact phone or a full-blown handheld like the Pocket DS or a Retroid Pocket 5 Handheld with Retroid Dual Add-on.
💾 External Asset Support
Assets (logos, backgrounds, slides) can be loaded from either internal storage or microSD, making it incredibly easy to swap cards across devices while keeping your customizations intact.
🎨 Redesigned with iiSU Style
Nearly every UI screen has been redesigned to align with the aesthetic and UX ideas from iiSU!, sleek, modular, and responsive.
I’d love your feedback on this!
💬 Tell me what features you’d like next: favorites, auto-import, filters, or something else?
PD: Android Apps Screen is on the way
Thank you for supporting this journey.
Alpha builds are coming this Friday! exclusively for patrons.
These are early experimental versions and not yet stable for daily use, expect bugs, unfinished flows, and rough edges.
But that’s exactly the point: your feedback will help shape the future of iiSU x Lair Launcher from the very beginning.

Comments
Lair Launcher was my personal project for dual-screen handhelds, but when iiSU made its debut, I talked with them, and Lair Launcher merged with iiSU, so that means I am the lead developer of iiSU DS.

I was hoping you could clarify, is LairLauncher a personal project you are working on in addition to iiSU?
