Sins of the Father

This comic is taken somewhat from personal experience (and with that, I'll be getting a bit personal.) When I went through my own divorce several years ago, it was suddenly halted because my ex became pregnant. I was told the divorce couldn't proceed until she gave birth and we could do a paternity test. In a divorce and a custody dispute that was going from two kids, to potentially three. This was very aggravating at the time, because all I wanted was my two kids. My ex was cheating on me with multiple men, and I had proof of several instances. I'm also a male, and quite capable of realizing I'm in a marriage where I've been denied sex for two years.  Unless my ex had some form of spacetime, 4th dimensional anomaly involving her uterus, this was not my child. I WOULD KNOW.

 Long and unfortunate story short, she had a miscarriage, and the divorce went through as it was originally scheduled. Got my kids. My ex eventually got pregnant again, and hit the skids with the ex-con father. I then had to explain to my own kids (who were like 5 and 7) how "Okay YOU'RE my kids, but mom has a new baby right? Well, he's your brother, but he's not my son." Yeah. That conversation sucked.  The new baby is now tossed from home to home. His real dad has issues with the law and a long rap sheet. He can't always watch his own son, can't hold a job, and periodically gets caught with drugs. Baby is either at his grand parents or parents house, on either side of the family. This kid isn't mine, but God do I feel bad for him. He's like, a little over 2 now. Sees my kids show up once a month. Has two parents that can't seem to handle watching him. I've actually gotten past phone calls and texts from some of my ex'es family complaining to me how they don't want to watch him. Like, what the hell do you want ME to do?

 Another fun fact from all this is, she gets the same amount of money from the baby's father for child support for ONE CHILD, as she pays me for the TWO we had together. Equality, amiright? :P
