"I’m a person who prides themselves on absolute control over emotions, trying to stay above things and not give into indulging in negative feelings. Destruction of items make me cringe, but during a few days, I wanted to smash everything in my parents’ house and just literally bathe myself in the satisfaction that I caused them suffering.
I wanted to redirect this volatile energy into something productive instead of destructive, and I borrowed Resin for it.
My sessions with Jonathan have revolved around and often touched upon the power of reflection. It’s hard to change someone by arguing with them- and violence only solidifies what that person else may think. Creating a chance for reflection offers an opportunity for someone to reconsider and perhaps empathize and change course on their own.
This was my attempt to capture these ideas and sort of project them onto Resin. It was quite satisfying to see wild strokes tighten up into a very controlled form- and within that, I made peace with myself.
It was quite the privilege to utilize Jonathan’s character as well as what we have shared into those few hours. "
