Texas Furry Fiesta 2019
This is a public post.
It’s good to be back, Patrons and other friends.
My TFF experience last year was far different from this year’s. Last year came while I was still torn asunder between two countries and a relationship with three other people. Sasha and I had to do far more back-and-forth driving just to get to the dealer’s den with all items. We had less table space then, less products, and less art show presence.
Thanks to an established home base, a better car, 25% increase in con attendance, more community engagement and art from me, and the usual huge amount of Sasha’s energy, I was able to absolutely shatter my previous convention sales records. And that’s just from my art pieces. If this keeps up, we’ll be able to absolve ourselves of all debt within a year, including my high-interest loans from university!

Highlights from this year’s TFF experience:
-Meeting with Dr. Button on the way up to Dallas to discuss the implications of furry as a microcosm of the greater world, and my desire for normalising healthy behaviour in our fandom.
-Getting to know our hotel roomies, Blindcoyote, Mag, and Everruler, to greater depths
-Meeting one of my favourite peers from my alma mater, who is not furry, and but who is starting her Masters in Sociology and is now married to an ethicist.
-Seeing the mentees Sasha and I have continuing to grow. Atlas, Cyrus, Blind, and Zephra, we’re proud of you!
-Being interviewed on camera by Ash, Ash, and Chip, to talk in-depth about the most valuable things the furry fandom has to offer, and where it may be heading in the future.
-Seeing Sasha kill it, again, in our talk about gender and sexual expression to a new fandom, while learning of more opportunities for me to improve on my delivery. More people than ever came to us after our message to tell us how grateful they were for what they learned.
-Getting to masquerade with Everruler in the Resin mask he made for me.

Yesterday I did my usual cooking/prep work. I also reached out to the local Sex Addict Recovery group to see if I can get integrated to increase my chances of sobriety. And this morning we had breakfast in the garden for the first time this year.
And now, to get ready for my stream this morning. Hope to see you there!
Love,
-J
