Supporter Newsletter - April

Hello to all of our beautiful Supporters! I hope you all had a great month of March because I know with the insanity that we dealt with, it was truly a fun month overall. From our hosting of the Stand Up To Cancer Charity to the fun launch we had with our brand new Minecraft Servers. March was one action-packed month for sure. Just like our last newsletter we will be having all of our upper staff team give you a quick update on their side of things within Requiem and we’re even going to have our new training Minecraft Lead say hello for the first time.

For the Month of March a lot of our time primarily went into first our Minecraft Server launch, FiveM launch, and our Charity Event. With Minecraft things went incredibly well and we’re having a blast hosting those servers for you all. We’re going to continue our work on the Minecraft side of things going forward with some awesome updates like a random appearing island event on Skyblock where you can go to mine rare ores and get some sweet island money. Once we’re closer to having this out we can share more details on how this cool new feature will work.

Unfortunately, when it came time for us to launch our FiveM 2.0 server in March, we let you all down. This was not at all our intention and we had been working hard prior to the launch. Ultimately what everything came down to was a bit of miscommunication from our Moderator and Admin Teams. We’ve completely fixed this issue and are going to make sure we don’t have anything like this happened again. Due to our miscommunication when we thought we were ready to launch we ran into a lot of game-breaking bugs that would have ruined the experience for you all and most likely make it entirely unplayable. From those mistakes we’re 100% heads down at work to fix the bugs and issues so that we can have a smooth launch. Our aim launch is currently around April 16thbut we won’t be sticking to that until we officially announce it out to the community.

In March we also celebrated the 3rd anniversary of our favorite game, Sea of Thieves! It’s crazy to think that Requiem has been around since the beginning of Sea of Thieves but we didn’t start hosting our Alliance Servers until late 2019. Before the Alliance Servers, some of you may know, we hosted the Thieves Gauntlet which was a tournament series where the best crews would match up against each other in battle. Ultimately it was an incredibly difficult event to host without private servers but it was the first of it’s kind. With our celebration we also hosted an amazing charity where we raised over $2,000 for Stand Up To Cancer which helps go towards different types of Cancer Research. We couldn’t have done anything like that without you!

Now it’s time to dig into where our money went for March. Please note that this does not include extra revenue gained that Requiem did not spend.That is all automatically thrown into our savings for a rainy day. Starting us off, a lot of our money goes towards Staff Benefits (36%) which includes Staff Payments, Team Giveaways, Officer of the Month, SoT Officer Plunder Passes, etc. Next we have our monthly normal Savings (16%) which goes towards taxes and quarterly charity events. Another normal expense we have is our Server Hosting/Maintenance (5%) which goes towards our VPS, Dedicated Machine Hosting, Premium Bots, Website, etc. Our last but certainly not least part of the money goes towards Giveaways (5%) which is exactly what you’d think.

I really hope this has been insightful for everyone and that the new way we share our charges and what the money goes towards lets you see how much we put back into the community. Please keep in mind though that the percentages may not equal 100% which means the excess money all goes into savings for us to host big events in the future. Like a pizza party right? Happy April, all!  My name is Penny and I'm the Social Media Manager for Requiem. While my team and I continue to work hard to improve our social media engagement and posts, I'm still looking for new members to join the fun. Throughout April I will still be working on different ways to get our name and brand out there to continue bringing in new faces to the community. And without giving away too much info, I'm also working on our next big project of merch! Keep an eye on the announcements for more information on that.

Hi Everyone, it's Mookest  

Thank you all for being part of our great community. We work really hard to make sure you all get the best experience possible. I've been busy this month working on a few things behind the scenes to make sure we continue to provide that great experience for our members. I've been talking to a few people to partner with but with lackluster results. You see, I don't want us to partner with any run-of-the-mill discord server. I want to find a great community to partner with that will bring a great benefit to our members. Whether it is a good community that provides a place to play games we don't host here or a place that can provide help in your personal life or maybe financial advice. If anyone has ideas or suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Please reach out to me and let me know what you think. Have a great month!

Admin - Spylon

Hello there, Spylon here. I'll keep it short so you can go back to enjoying your game as soon as possible.   

What have I been doing the past month? Well... a whole lot of administrative stuff, project management, meetings... basically all of the _fun_ stuff that comes with the Development Lead and Creative Director roles. Let's just skip over that and jump to the exciting part.  

As some of you might have seen Dash just started his trial for Development Lead. During his trial I will remain Development Lead and will continue operations as usual. However, at some point during the trial you can expect to see him slowly take over more of the responsibilities that come with the role.  

If all goes well, that'd mean I get the chance to focus on my main role in this community; Creative Director.

Moderator - Tenebris Kane

Hello everyone I am Tenebris Kane, the lead of the sea of thieves section here at Requiem.  

This month has been a busy month for our staff hosting alliance servers, especially during the double gold weekend, where we consistently had between six and nine servers running at a given time. With how popular these servers have been we have actively recruited several new officers to our SoT Team and even saw two of our existing officers be promoted to senior to help get everything up to speed.  

This month in sea of thieves will definitely be interesting, with the first season finally coming to a close we are now anxiously awaiting the arrival of Season 2. In the meantime though our servers will be running 24/7 and with various events in the works thanks to Judgementreeper we will be trying to keep everyone occupied until the new content drops!

Hey there! I'm Sherm the FiveM Lead over here at Requiem.  

I joined Requiem with FiveM this past January and it's been a great journey ever since then! Recently we closed down our 1.0 server to make way for 2.0 that is currently in deep development. The team has been working hard to make sure this is prepared for you as best as possible! Being brand new, we are also always looking for new officers to join our team to take on the big city! Howdy all, I’m Roesch21 the Recruitment Lead here at Requiem. It’s been a busy, busy year for us so far and our growth has been insane. I want to thank everyone that’s been inviting their friends, telling folks about Requiem, and upvoting us on places like Top.gg. It’s been a tremendous help!   

Over the last month the Recruitment Team has been focused on coming up with new ideas and strategies for recruiting people for some of our games other than SoT. Primarily our 3 new Minecraft servers. We are also working in the background to prepare for the launch of our new FiveM 2.0 server so we are ready to hit the ground running when it launches.

Hello again, Judgementreeper here!       

March was a busy month with our Charity Stream & the launch of our four new Minecraft Servers. During this time, I have been focusing on scheduling events to better correspond with in game challenges.      

Our Gold Hoarder Event on April 3rd for example will be a great opportunity for you to complete your Vault Raiders accommodations.       

My team and I have also been working to find improvements to our existing events. I am working on a new form that will help the community share ideas with me and my team. I will announce it to the community soon!

Moderator - Kakarot

Ummm hello? This is Kakarot speaking. Most of you know me of course but for the people who don't I'm the Minecraft Lead! So to start We launched our brand new Minecraft servers about a month ago. That includes a Skyblock, Towny and Factions server! The launch of the servers have been going good and we have a lot more planned for the future. I'll go down the list of each server and then explain some future plans afterwords.

Factions! So with the Factions server it has had the least amount of player activity as of right now. The server is kind of messy with how things are set up. That's my fault. There's still a lot of work that needs to be done on this server. The MC team and me are going to do our best to make it as great as possible. We are going to be working on a new spawn for it that I hope everyone will like. Right now this server is on the low priority list of all the servers since it's the least popular right now and I've never worked on a factions server so it's all new to me. I will however get it revamped and ready to go as quick as possible for everyone.

Towny! This server has been a hit or a miss with people. It's the 2nd most active server that we have. Basically the rundown on this one is that the Towny plugin we are using needs a lot of configuration and it's going to take some time but we will get it all sorted out and have the Towny server poppings ASAP.

Skyblock! Now Skyblock there's good news and bad. The bad news is that the plugin we chose to use, the devs of it have decided that it was coded badly and are re-coding the whole thing. It was supposed to release the new update at the end of March but As of right now there is no ETA. Because of this I have decided that there isn't any point in adding or changing too much about it right now. The real bad news though is because it's getting re-coded it means there is going to have to be a complete wipe. However, it's not all bad. The good news is hopefully with this new code there will be a lot more in the plugin and then we can really start working on the server! Skyblock has been the most popular of all the servers and is the one I would like to prioritize first.

Now with that out of the way about the Pixelmon server! Yes we are still planning on releasing a Pixelmon server. No there is no ETA on it right now. It's going to take a little bit of time to get this server out. The reason it's gonna take a while is because I want this server to be as close to perfect as possible. That would include a custom map with towns, gyms and an expansive safari zone! A lot of people voted for this server so I want to give everyone a server they will enjoy and want to stay on for a long time! I'm sorry for how long it's gonna take to get it up and running but it will be worth the wait. With that, I think that's about everything I have for right now and look forward to seeing more people on the servers!
