Supporter Newsletter - November
Added 2020-11-01 23:27:17 +0000 UTCHello to all of our beautiful Supporters! Halloween has just come and gone once again. I hope you all had a very spookified October. We did our own kind of costume/decorations around the Discord for the first time this year and I think it went pretty well. This newsletter may be a bit shorter than usual since there isn't much to fill you all in on for November. With that being said, let's go ahead and jump right into this month's Supporter Newsletter.
I'd like to go over many of our expenses throughout the month. October wasn't a crazy month in terms of giveaways and events but we did have some fun. We had the usual expenses like, VPS (Virtual Prive Server) for hosting bots, premium bot members, GTA VPS for hosting our private server, Minecraft Server, and then the giveaways we hosted for Halloween at the end of the month. We no longer have to pay any extra for Nitro on the Discord since we are now partnered. (Hooray!)
We are getting to a point where we will have the money to at least pay the Admins of Requiem which would make this more of a job and allow us to spend more of our time here. Right now the two admins being myself and Penny. The money that would be going towards us in the new year and shouldn't affect what we give back to Requiem currently. This will be able to help us financially given we both don't have our jobs anymore due to COVID. As the community moves forward, we'll even be able to pay more staff in the community when the budget allows it, which would be amazing. These finances wouldn't currently be going into effect for new Admins we bring onto the team at the moment though.
Recently, we have been discussing the promotion of more Admins in our community. These would obviously be people from our current Moderator Team that we feel can best fit into the role. Requiem is constantly growing to the point that our team needs more people to make sure we bring you all such an amazing community. Everyone on any of our Staff Teams are incredibly important to us here. Bringing up and promoting new Admins will open more positions on our Moderator Team to bring up great people interested in helping out
Now that I've mentioned new admins, I will go ahead and tell you all a bit more about that as well. Something I've been thinking about over the past year is bringing on new admins that are truly here for Requiem in the long term and will really help to make a difference in our community. These new admins will be from our Moderator Team of course which we will have to fill their roles in before they are promoted up. The decision is hard on who we want to bring up to the admin role but we believe we will have to know who to promote by the end of the year.
Additionally, I would like to talk about our new Town Hall that we will be doing monthly, starting this month. This Town Hall will hopefully bring a new level of communication to our community where we can bring you all information and get to hear what is on your mind. We already have plenty of ways for everyone to let us know their suggestions and ideas for Requiem but we believe this will help you all to feel more heard. Our main goal is for the community to know that we're here for you and this community is completely built around all of you. We hope to see you there for our first Town Hall on Friday and each first Friday of the month after that.
Before we go into the closing remarks I do have one last thing to go over. As many of you may know, we have been looking hard for new Sea of Thieves Officers. While not all applicants are worthy of the role or would be here for the right reasons, we look over all of them equally. I wanted to ask for help from all of you as well. If at any point you meet someone new in the community that you feel would be helpful to our staff team, please let them know about our applications. This invitation is also open to all of you as well. Our Sea of Thieves Officer team is our main team and could really use the help, but if you're interested in helping another staff team, please apply.
Now to close us off I really have to thank you all again. This community has come so far over the past year. Everything we've accomplished so far has been truly amazing. While 2020 isn't completely over yet, it feels so close to being there. This year hasn't been very great for many, many people in the world, including myself. I lost my job due to COVID but I also got Requiem this year as well which I wouldn't give away for anything in the world. This community has helped me and so many others through the hard times we have in the world currently. We can only hope 2021 will bring light in the darkness. I love you all!
