Hello! We did the 5K walk, in the snow as it turns out. It was very nice and a chance to enjoy the snow (it wasn't very bad and the trail was clear) and try out the Yaktrax cleats I ordered during our last ice storm. The verdict is that the Yaktrax are amazing. I spent a lot of the walk slightly off the cleared track walking in the snow both to stay well out of the way of the speedier racers and to play in the snow. We don't get a lot of snow around here.
We actually did an only slightly shorter walk around Green Lake yesterday. The weather was bright and sunny and we had already gone down there to pick up our race numbers and packets, so we thought "what the heck, it's more training." We saw a lot of ducks, coots, geese of both the domestic and Canada variety, and a heron. Oh, we also saw a bald eagle on the walk today, being harassed by crows as is traditional.
So I think I will sleep well tonight.
Here's the page, I was kind of dragging today so it's right under the wire.
Thanks, all!
