DNA Valkyrie - Vol. 5 - Chapter 27: The Master & The Apprentice

Chapter 27: The Master & The Apprentice

“Wait a minute—what is she doing here?” Quentin panicked as soon as he saw Cynthia coming out of the restroom with Amber behind her.

“You…!” while Protea didn’t panic anywhere near as much as he did, she still was uneasy about this shocking surprise that Amber had always been aboard the train in secret.

“Guys, guys, I know what you think, but Amber is no longer going to cause us any trouble!” Widdowfield immediately began vouching for her as she escorted her out of the restroom and brought her to see Quentin and Protea.

“Cyn—what are you talking about?”  Quentin didn’t see what she saw.

“Widdowfield, what have you done?” Protea confronted her, as well. None of them were that interested in listening to what she had to say about Amber, no matter how much she vouched for her and defended her.

“Listen, guys, she’s leaving Richard,” Cynthia declared to them.

“She’s leaving him for good?” Quentin asked.

“That’s right.”

“That doesn’t mean I’ll trust her. She blackmailed me just as much as Richard did!” Protea folded her arms together under her big, green tits as she reminded everyone of what Amber did to her and she was right to be suspicious of her like that. She had every right to be feeling like this.

“I am not asking you to trust her, Protea, I’m only saying that we need to be careful and not throw her back to the wolves. If Richard finds out about what she did… About the risks that she took to get to us and tell us these things, she would be in big, big trouble… You have to keep that in mind…” Cynthia tried to remind Protea of everything Amber did and the decisions she had made…

“Um… Are you only saying that because she used to be your stripper mentor or some shit like that a long time ago? Yeah. I know about that stuff, Widdowfield…” And instead of listening to her, she confronted her.

Nothing was going too well, all things considered…

“She taught me a lot of the things I know in life, yes, but this is not why I want to believe her.”

“Then, what is it?” Protea asked her with her arms still folded together.

“I want to believe her because while she might have made a mistake to side with Richard, she’s still choosing to do the right thing now and to make up for her mistake. No one is perfect. We all made mistakes before. It doesn’t matter if one makes a mistake. It’s how someone goes about fixing that mistake that matters.”

Then, all of a sudden, it was now completely silent in the train.

No one said anything.

Cynthia’s words had resonated loudly with everyone as she defended Amber.

“Very well, then we shall bring her back with us to the HQ once we reach the city,” Quentin had been swayed by Cynthia’s words. She persuaded him that she shouldn’t be seen as this horrible monster because she made a mistake and that she conspired with Richard.

Then, Quentin and Cynthia turned to Protea, the last one who had not said anything about what was just said…

“Fine!” Protea intoned vocally, finally giving up and agreeing with the others.

“Thanks, Protea for understanding,” Cynthia smiled and thanked her.

But instead of saying anything else, Protea simply disappeared by opening a door and stepping into a different wagon on the train. She had had more than enough of this, it seemed.

“Is she okay?” Cynthia asked Quentin.

“She’ll be just fine,” he answered.

“This is all because of me…” Amber’s shoulders dropped.

“No, I don’t want you to keep pushing yourself. I won’t allow it!” Cynthia didn’t waste a single second to tell her what she thought of her continuously blaming herself. Yes, she was to blame, but it was all in the past now. It was time to look forward to the future.

“Cynthia…” Amber’s voice had gone almost entirely soft.

“Besides, you still have so much to teach me…” Cynthia let her know.

“What are you saying? I don’t have anything left to teach you… You already know everything, Cynthia…”

“You know that’s not true. You’re still a much better performer than I could ever hope to become. I still have so much to learn from you and as soon as this is all done, I am counting on you to show me everything you couldn’t before. When you were teaching me, you showed me the basics, sure—but not your expert moves if you know what I mean.”

Hearing this was more than enough to bring a smile to the legendary stripper.

“We’ll see, Blue Heart… We’ll see…”

“Aaaand I just want to let you know that this is an honour for me to meet you, Madame Amber!” Quentin cut in and interrupted their sentimental conversation simply so he could formally meet and be introduced to Amber. He guided his hand toward her in the hope to shake her hand…

“Is it me or do you seem to be statstrucked?” Amber asked Quentin directly.

“Um…” Quentin wouldn’t say, but Cynthia did notice that he seemed to be pretty intimated and starstrucked by her. This made sense. She was a star after all. She was a star performer in the city and she had been doing this for decades. Based on what Amber told Cynthia a long time ago, she started when she was only eighteen years old. By the time she became nineteen, she was already the most-popular stripper and erotic model of the entire city. It was only recently that she began taking a step back and performing a little less. At first, Cynthia had no idea why this was the case, but now with all that secret stuff going on in the background with Richard, everything was now starting to make a lot of sense…

“Let me guess. You’re a fan?” Amber asked Quentin, finally gaining her smile back, something that wasn’t seen on her face ever since she appeared to the detective in the restroom earlier.
