Chapter 275: Hourglass Enchantment Broken
September and April were finally freed.
They both remained unconscious for the longest time after the enchantment was broken, but they were still breathing—they were still alive, which was finally something they could rejoice about.
Not too long after they were rescued, the villagers all came out of hiding and gathered around Junk, June, September, and April.
They offered to help, and they did once Junk accepted their help.
Once the village was saved, there was no rush in leaving, since the witch and the ranger would have to recover for quite some time before they could depart.
Thankfully, this small village had a medical clinic.
It really was a holy clinic because it was the local shrine where an old priest would heal and cure townsfolk of diseases. The priest in question appeared to be ancient. He was a human old man of a hundred years, if not older than that, and he was the one who offered to heal September and April to begin with.
The priest helped.
Thanks to him, September and April finally woke up from their unfortunate unconscious state they were in for the past week…
He did it.
He saved them.
Junk was thankful for what he did for them. The old man was a truly kind and holy servant of a good God, and he accepted to help a witch and a ranger who was part of the same coven as her. He accepted to do so at the request of a hellish Minotaur knight and a Lady Minotaur barbarian.
This goes to show how kind and holy this old man is… Junk thought during the healing process.
Junk felt relieved when September and April finally woke up.
“Junk…” September’s voice had never sounded this fragile and weak, but it was normal, she was only waking up and she was still recovering.
“I’m here, my Queen…” Junk was definitely here for her.
“She woke up!” The Lady Minotaur was also relieved.
“Junk…?” The same thing was true for April, as well.
April sounded a lot more confused that September did merely seconds ago…
“I’m here, April.”
“They both woke up.”
“My work here is done…” The old priest smiled and stepped back as the beautiful women were waking up…
Now, it was only Junk and the four beautiful women in the shrine.
“You freed us…” September realized what had happened, surely still remember the hourglass-shaped cells in which she and April were imprisoned into.
“They did…” April seemed to remember better now.
“Easy, easy, the two of you, you are still recovering,” Junk let them know.
“We were scared for yah,” June admitted to them. They were both scared they wouldn’t wake up, but thanks to the priest, they did and this was the best news they had since that horrible battle with the mysterious Hourglass woman not too long ago.
“The Hourglass woman… Where is she?” September’s mind immediately went to her.
“We took care of her,” Junk told her, only wishing for the Witch Queen to relax a bit before she jumped into anything too fast.
“Junk kicked her butt!” The Lady Minotaur was excited to say that to everyone.
“I knew he was going to!” April raised both arms in the air and celebrated with June.
“He really did it, huh…” September shut her eyes and raised her head. This was her way of saying that she was proud of her trusty Minotaur knight.
She was proud of him.
He felt how proud she was of him, and this brought a welcomed warmth to his heart.
The only thing that mattered was that September and April were safe, but the fact that the Hourglass woman had been taken down.
It felt like this small village in the middle of the Summer province was safe now.
“We should probably head back up to the Autumn province. I mean, as soon as you two are feeling better, of course,” Junk thought that it was probably for the better to leave this place as soon as possible.
“There’s something that needs to be done first…” The Witch whispered.
“What’s that?” Her knight asked her, cocking his head to the side and wondering what she had in mind.
“What is it?” April was just as curious as he was.
“This is something I want to ask June…” September spoke up.
“What? Me?” The barbarian woman didn’t expect to be spoken to by the Witch Queen or asked something by her.
“Yes, you,” the Queen confirmed that she was speaking to her.
“Well, what do you want to know, Witch Queen?” June shrugged, ready to answer anything that September was going to throw her way.
“How about you join us?” The witch’s question was short and simple, however, it still caught the barbarian woman off-guard.
“Join you?”
“I didn’t ask the opinion of the others yet, but something tells me that they won’t mind too much—”
“I don’t mind! June can join the team!” April interrupted September, and she was already celebrating way ahead of time prior to June accepting September’s offer.
“How about you, Junk? What do you think?” September asked him, as he was the only one who still had to give his opinion.
The Minotaur knight stood there with his strong arms folded together.
“...”
He stayed silent for the most part.
“Junk… What are you thinking…?” April shyly and adorably asked him.
“To put it simply, I’d be honored to have June join the team,” his answer was finally given.
“You… Guys…” June whispered.
“Then, it’s decided, if you accept the offer, you shall become a member of our wicked coven!” September, the Witch Queen announced.
“It’s up to you, now, June!” April turned to her.
“Do you want to stay here or come on a journey with this?” It was the Minotaur who asked this to the Lady Minotaur.
Since there wasn’t many Minotaurs around (only two, in fact), being with one sounded like something pretty appealing to her, it seemed.
At least, it was how Junk felt.
