Patreon Poll July

Hello All,

We've collected some of the popular suggestions from the suggestion post the other day. We'll be producing the winning option but will also be taking other popular choices into account.

One of the popular choices was to compare UK Labour to AUS Labor. Well, we've actually already produced a video about this and Nigel Farage's Reform party. That video will be coming out as an extra for all Patreon members shortly. It will then be released as a regular video on Youtube next Monday.

This poll is open to anyone on the Patreon, we'll have more exclusive content for the full members next week, Look forward to it!

In the spirit of UK < Australia, Gary Stevenson could be an interesting interview I'd be really curious to see his reaction on AU Labor response and if there's any leverage for UK Labour (hard when the hand dealt is no good for them, austerity is crazy insanity we HOPEFULLY don't need to imagine here)

Going to get these in August?

It's a EU citizen's iniative that seeks to implement regulations so that game publishers would leave games in a playable state after abandoning them. The initiative just reached 1.2 million signatures, but we need more. There are no laws currently protecting video games from destruction. This initiative aims to change that.

What is killing games?

Batteries. There's a battery rebate available now for your house. Now I'm old and or crusty enough to remember Peter Garrett, walking through the high dry grass of ceiling insulation, and the absolute circus it became. The battery rebate right now is Ceiling insulation 2.0 I only have a sort of "inside" information from a close friend who has been in household solar photovoltaics and off-grid systems for about 32 years. Lithium ion batteries are great and Australia should immerse ourselves in them. But at the same time, we have access to Australian made, (in Ipswich QLD) solar system batteries, that are less embodied CO² to produce, last a proven 20 years with maintenance and have a proven robust, commercially viable recycling system, something lithium ion batteries can currently only dream of. In fact we have a massive looming lithium battery recycling nightmare. Nobody can work on car batteries. A car has gone over a stray wheel on the highway, hit a rock, hit a gutter. All plausible potential situations, nobody can work on that battery pack. It's toast. When do we see those people? If it's not close yet, it's not close to commercial viability. Meanwhile an excellent Australian company (Century Yuassa) is ignored. Maybe they've got a shit union.

This one could be particularly spicey Jordan, but... Palantir is partnering with Coles and will be utilising its' tech in 850+ stores in Australia. Now that we know Peter Thiel is an absolute maniac, maybe more Australians should be aware of this...? https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-02-09/coles-just-hired-us-defence-contractor-palantir/103443504
