Poll Time - Who would have gotten together in high school?
Added 2024-10-06 23:48:43 +0000 UTCAs I've been writing the Abbie/Rose story (currently set in their high school years), it made me wonder -
Which couple do you think would have gotten together earlier in life, if they'd gone to the same high school, at the same time (eg, in the same grade)?
For the record, this poll does mean, inherently, that they all realize they are queer by the time they are in high school!
This is also such a fun little exercise for me, in imagining all of my babies in their youth!

2024-10-07 13:56:29 +0000 UTCI think Riley and Gianna would make out once they figured they were attracted to each other, but I'm not sure they would date in high school not to risk their friendship; Ellie and Mia I think would be friends, but Ellie would be super focused on school and not that interested in anything dating related; I feel like Taylor would annoy Brooke with her carefree way of being, but the crush would be crushing; Caroline and Hannah I feel would get together in school and never break up, I think they would grow together as people and remain together; Charlotte and Sutton I think would get together, Charlotte would be protective over Sutton along with Regan, but maybe they would break up because of Charlotte's goals in politics, and meet again in the future.

Caroline and Hannah got the end vote (they are my favs though so I may be biased) and I’d love to see an AU with them one day ❤️

I think Sutton would have had a huge crush on Charlotte and Charlotte would have entertained it but only short term (think cheerleader! Gianna was a mean girl and only circumstance pushed her and Riley together Maybe Ellie and Mia but Ellie was quite educationally driven, although maybe Mia would have stepped in when people bullied her? Although perhaps Riley would have done the same and confronted someone like Gianna?? Caroline and Hannah are the only ones who in high school didn’t seem to have that level of baggage? Brooke and taylor were too immature I think. Or rather Taylor wasn’t for sticking to a relationship at that age and needed to spread her wings The more I think about it the more I think Riley and Gianna. Because assuming they were at the same school, both out, then I would assume Gianna May bully Ellie and Riley would stand up to her thus an attraction may begin…

Although I think the other couples needed the time and space to grow, these 2 could have made it from earlier on?

2024-10-07 03:04:04 +0000 UTCYeah and Gia only was confronted on her mean girlness due to forced proximity to Riley, being that they were roommates. I think Gianna and Riley wouldn’t have interacted in high school unless circumstances forced them to.

Like maybe they met at a gala because of their political ties or Charlotte attended a summer program in Boston. Like a midnight rain situation except their story begins at a high school age. They are so different but I think those two would have gravitated in any timeline.

I say Caroline and Hannah for sure!! There was an INSTANT connection there!!

They didn't get together sooner because the whole Riley assumed that she was straight thing. I love Abbie and Caroline as is too much to want their story (being friends for years before becoming a family) to change.

Ellie thought she was straight and Mia was seeing someone in high school. 2. Sutton really only started discovering her preferences in her phd years and Charlotte had a one track mind on her career 3. Didn’t Taylor and Brooke know each other in High school? That didn’t take~ 4. Riley is similar to Mia and Sutton : was straight until their book. Hannah and Caroline didn’t really have much of a barrier except for Hannah’s PTSD with marriage. If they had met in High school this barrier would not have existed~ QED (idk y but it just seemed appropriate to this)

I ended up voting for Caroline Hannah because it’s interesting to think about what Hannah would have been like pre Michael and I don’t think she would have been as closed off at that stage. I can’t see. I can’t see Ellie very interesting in relationships at that stage. Charlotte would have been too busy with extracurriculars even though she would def try to hook up with Sutton so maybe that would be the same haha. I feel like Riley would have on unfortunate straight goggles much like she did in college. Brooke was already into Taylor during high school so that’s probably a runner up for me.
