I have nephews so I understand. Yet not understanding Gabi and Reiner’s fathers are brothers, making them first cousins. Somehow Reiner, Zeke and Eren get conflated. And I’m sorry about Libya, that’s such a shame, really. Not a shame for you, but a shame for me being American. Should’ve never happened.

Sorry Omar I know they're making us like these people but I couldn't help it not dropping some manly tears when they all got to see their families back in Liberio. Love how they don't make this show as a simple conflict between the evil and good forces, not at all.

yeah when Omar said ''so Eren and Reiner are cousins?'' I kinda laughed a lot haha that was too much overthinking. But then I thought, wait, maybe he meant Gabi, cause she looks kinda like Eren.

For the family stuff. Gabi’s dad called Reiner his nephew so Gabi and Reiner are cousins. Also it’s very cool how you picked up on the Gabi/Eren parallel so quickly. Isayama intentionally drew her to resemble Eren. I love the suicide scene because it’s following Reiner talking about how Paradis island was “hell”. Then he describes all this completely normal stuff, and then the next scene is some soldier in the background committing suicide as Reiner walks by it nonchalantly. It’s such an amazing way of telling us which place is the true “hell” without outright saying it.

Kind of the reason Reiner's mom had that experession, when his story made the Eldian "devils" seem more like regular people. You can't have a good propaganda machine if people you want to brainwash think the enemy is similar to them.

Hello omario just to clarify something. When you say that you can see what they are trying to do is make you like these people, that’s only part of it.It is my opinion the writer is showing you the other side to show that the enemy is not some mysterious monster like titans any more, but people living their lives just like on paradis

The dinner table was just the Braun family, nothing to do with the Jeagers at all. Gabi's father is the brother of Reiner's mom, making Gabi and Reiner first cousins. Hope that clears things up.
