Morrowind Modding Showcases - A Thank You and this week's Video Schedule
Added 2016-02-28 13:09:50 +0000 UTCGreetings everyone, I wanted to take the time to thank you all for your support, I really wasn't expecting much of a response to this crowdfunding campaign, and you guys just completely blew me out of the water, I really can't thank you enough for your support of the channel!
And as far as Patreon rewards go, I'm really looking forward to showing you guys some of the pilot episodes for new series I've been working on, at least one of which is something I've been wanting to do for a long time now and I'm excited to hear your response when it gets released. Right now, the first three pilot episodes will probably be released at the end of March for your review, and we'll be doing three pilot episodes at the end of every month after that where you guys will get to vote on which ones become permanent video series on the channel. And of course, I'd love to hear your ideas about any mod-related video series you'd like to see on the channel, doesn't even have to be Morrowind-related, could be anything, and I'll try and make pilot episodes based off of those suggestions.
Now I know there's been some concerns that I might be pushing myself too hard with too many video series, so to reassure everyone, this week is going to be the start of a "Stress Test" week so to speak, where I'll be releasing a new video every day for the entire week. These are mostly going to be smaller videos that have been in production for a while, but my goal here is to show that the channel does indeed have room for expansion and enough content for a video a day.
I also wanted to give you guys a head's up about what you can expect in terms of video content this week, so here's a full schedule that you can find down below (and of course Episode 45 of Morrowind Modding Showcases was released yesterday).
Sunday - Skyrim Home of the Nords Trailer:
The Skyrim - Home of the Nords team has given me access to their development files, and over the course of the last four years since their last public release, they've made an absolute ton of progress, The city of Karthwasten (a town about the size of Balmora) has been pretty much completely finished, Markarth has largely finished exteriors, and Vorndgad and Haafinheim Forests are largely finished. It's really a beautiful landscape, one of the best I've seen in Morrowind, and I'm really looking forward to finally releasing some videos of this amazing province mod. This first trailer will mostly focus on Karthwasten County, with a little bit of southern Markarth County included for good measure, and we'll be doing a couple more trailers in the coming month featuring other areas of Skyrim - Home of the Nords. The first trailer should be live about 7 hours after this post is made.
Monday - Morrowind Modding Interviews - Zini, Project Lead of OpenMW Follow-up Interview:
This is a special episode of Morrowind Modding Interviews talking with Zini about the more recent progress of OpenMW since we last talked to him a year ago. He talks a bit about what's being added to OpenMW right now, what features are still being implemented, and what's coming in future versions of OpenMW. This is a much shorter interview than usual, only about 12 minutes, but I'm looking to do more of these shorter interviews with project developers from OpenMW, Tamriel Rebuilt, and the other province teams (like Skyrim - Home of the Nords, Lyithdonea, and Province: Cyrodiil) going into the future, sort of like developer logs on what's happening with those projects.
Tuesday - Morrowind Mod of the Month - January 2016:
The official results of our online poll for January 2016 will be released with the top three best Morrowind mods as decided by popular vote. We'll also have a new online poll for the best mods of February, and so far, it looks like February is going to be a really competitive month.
Wednesday - Modder's Book Reviews:
This is basically like the Modder's Kickstarter Corner only for books, taking a look at some of the published literature that's been produced by modders in the community. In this first episode, we're looking at a Science-Fiction/Thriller novel by Morrowind modder (and ModTown 2015 contributor) OrinDac, and the goal here is to provide you guys with an informative review of what you can expect from this novel and give the author a little extra publicity to help them out a bit.
Thursday - Oblivion House Mod Hunters - Episode 3:
The third episode in our Oblivion House Mod Hunters series which looks exclusively at three house mods per episode in order to help players find their dream home in Cyrodiil.
Friday - Let's Mod Morrowind - Episode 3:
After over a year, we finally have the third episode of Let's Mod Morrowind! This is a slightly shorter episode than usual, and we'll be covering aspects of dungeon design, specifically cavern dungeon design. Over the course of this episode we'll be building a cavern dungeon from scratch, and I'll be explaining aspects of good cavern design and how to make your caves feel appropriately natural and detailed. We'll be doing more of these episodes looking at how to design a variety of different types of dungeons, in the future we'll do Daedric ruins, Dwemer ruins, Velothi tombs, Dunmer strongholds, and Solstheim dungeons.
Saturday - Morrowind Modding Showcases - Episode 46
Another 13 mods for your viewing pleasure! This time around, Episode 46 is going to be dragon-themed, with a wide variety of dragon mods that have been released for Morrowind over the years, finally adding those fire-breathing monsters to Vvardenfell's landscape. If you have any recommendations for dragon mods we should feature, please do let me know!
And that's it, going to be a busy week to say the least! In the future I'm going to try and continue to give you guys a head's up about what you can expect on the channel each week, so you'll know what's coming. But anyway, I better hop to it, lot of videos to work on!
Thanks again for your support!
