I finished doing linearts for the part 1 of a story. Starting next week I'm gonna work on more writing. This is when a new character, Lauren Ipsum, will debut. She's a bunny librarian who's also a writer.
The story is far from finished, but here are the notes I have so far:
- Kat is happy to return to St. Paws in a really convenient way via portal door. They explain it's some mumbo jumbo technology that the royal engineers developed.
- The gang heads to the castle, where Kat and Felicia reunites with Frederick (Kat's dad and Felicia's husband), finally giving him a proper debut appearance. They end up hitting off with the human cast really well, even calling Jordan "bubba", something she's confused about. ("Why bubba? What is it about me that gives me the label "bubba"?)
- Frederick was in the middle of a meeting with Prince Prince, the dog prince Kat has a crush on. Kat nervously goes to talk to him. The Prince is glad to see her and suggests they go to the cafe and catch up later, saying he has "big news".
- Kat still has a crush on him and decides to confess her feelings to him, but doesn't know how. Kuma suggests writing him a love poem, which she actually thinks is a good idea, but doesn't know how. Kuma throws some ideas, but Kat doesn't like any of them. She decides to head to the castle library and research love poems.
- Kat tells her dad that when she runs off to the library, even saying it's so she can tell the Prince how she feels. This stuns Frederick, who tries to tell her something but she's run off. Frederick can only say "Oh boy".
- While this is going on, Krisa and the bird (who snuck in with them) sees all of this and decide to kidnap the Prince for ransom from the castle.
- While there she runs into Lauren Ipsum, who works at the library (although at this point we don't know her name yet). At first Kat doesn't take notice into Lauren all that much, but when she tells her she wants to look up love poems so she can write her own, Lauren offers to help her out, being a writer herself. The two talk back and forth and actually hit it off. Lauren writes Kat a poem she can use, which she likes. She runs off with them.
- Krisa and the bird were able to kidnap the Prince, who is waiting at the cafe she told her to meet earlier, by putting sleeping powder in the tea he was drinking.
(at this point, I'm still undecided how the rescue would go. Maybe Kat goes to the cafe and waits for him, only to be informed by Chiro or someone that he was kidnapped. Kat goes to rescue him either way, with or without help).
- After Kat rescues the Prince, it's at this point she's about to tell him her feelings, but the Prince gives his news first: he's getting married to another girl in the kingdom (a duchess or someone)! He was talking to Frederick to help plan the wedding, and was hoping to invite the royal family, including Kat, for it.
- Kat is shocked, but manages to pull a straight face and congratulate him, saying she'll be happy to be at the wedding. The Prince is grateful, and gives her a hug for saving him earlier.
- Just as the Prince leaves, Kat shows she's extremely disappointed as to what happened, sighing sadly. Assuming the others are there (helping her rescue the Prince), maybe they can try comforting her, but either way Kat just wants to be alone for a while and leaves sadly.
- She ends up at the library from earlier, just sitting down sadly.
- Lauren shows up, asking how it went. Kat explains that he's already found another girl and never got to use the poem.
- Lauren, seeing how crushed Kat is, goes to comfort her. She explains she's had bad luck in romance before. Kat tells of her past bad luck as well. Eventually the two start cheering each-other up. Maybe at some point Kat calls her cute, which catches both of them off-guard. It's at this point that Kat finally asks Lauren what her name is.
