Devlog + Poll: Old Ways and New Ones
Added 2024-11-17 20:10:31 +0000 UTCHey guys!
Today, I want to try something I don’t think I’ve done before: combining a Devlog with a poll instead of making separate posts. For this topic, I feel it needs a little more context, and trying new things at least once can be refreshing
As you might know from previous posts, I’ve been rethinking and reworking some game mechanics and locations a little with every update. For example: I recently updated the shop layout in Everything Store for the next game version.
Mayazon: ✅
Workplaces: Working now ⚠️
Maya’s Shop and her scenes: On hold ⏳
Lust garden and 🌹 : on hold ⏳
Looking back at the things I created early in the game made me reflect on other aspects too—how the game has gradually changed and evolved over time.
Older quests are usually bigger and have more text.
Newer quests include more media (like images or videos) and offer players more choices. When I want to explore something in more depth, I add a 💬option so players can ask for more details if they want
I prefer this newer approach—it makes things more engaging and easier to digest. But, honestly, it takes more work and sometimes makes me insecure if a part has more text and feels longer than usual. So it has downsides too.
Technical Details:
There are also technical aspects I handled differently in the beginning, mainly because that’s what I could do at the time
the font: it’s simple and works well, but I’ve noticed it can look too big depending on your resolution and there are other stuff like this
These small things make me wonder if they need updating or if they’re fine as they are.
Now for the poll part :
I’ve gathered some of the doubts I’ve had while reviewing these elements and would love to hear your opinions. That’s why I feel combining the devlog and poll works best this time.
Thanks for reading through all this—I know it’s a lot! I’ll see you soon with a few more polls and posts, like one about Linda’s extra content and other updates, but I promise those will be shorter.
