Yup. There's very little investment required to do any of this if you already project to be a bad team. Better teams can't do it just because it's a waste of a roster spot.

Makes me hard pressed to see why they even bothered at all. I guess they were thinking along the lines of, "well maybe we'll get lucky, and it won't affect us that much if we don't."

Additionally, I was not expecting for you to so innocently release a comprehensive breakdown of the shadowy and rapacious dealings of the Rogers Baseball Club, but if we need to fold and nationalize the franchise, so be it.
