Seeing how the 2024 hof ballot went congrats to the 3 it’s seeming next year is going to be very interesting with how you have 2 locks Felix and the rest but I just wanted to know how you feel about guys like kinsler, Pedroia,Tulo and your boy zobrist and their chances

With the Glasnow trade done and Snell's Cy young year can we end the "don't trade with the Rays" thing?

Harper-Leighton Scott

What do you think about Andres Gimenez for this upcoming season? Last season you projected a regression in hitting and we saw that. He's a platinum glover at second base but I've heard he still views himself as a shortstop. Personally I think he should be moved over to shortstop so the Guardians can free up second base for a hitter rather than needing someone like Rocchio to play shortstop.

Who's in your top handful of candidates for next year's era committee HOF ballot?

Graham Hillmann

do you like the aesthetic changes to baseball savant? as someone who used the stat a decent amount in the past, do you have any feelings about the loss of max exit velocity above the fold? I also heard they're gonna release their own version of WAR. is there a world where that becomes your performance comparison stat of choice over fWAR?

Luke Nicholson

If the Dodgers don't win a Title over the next 3 or 4 years, would it be the most embarrassing failure in professional sports?

Ryan McGovern

I can’t think of a question so apologies Mr Baseball. You occasionally tweet with the format ‘she blanks on my blank until I blank’ or something similar and I would like to get your feedback on one I have just thought of. Call her a Mariner the way she J’s my Rod Is this anything? If I see this on your Twitter I will call my lawyers

Chris Waind

What's you personal opinion on Dustin Pedroia's Hall of Fame case, and how do you think he will fare on the ballot next year?

What's your go to karaoke song?

Who’s gonna let Jacob degrom know his body can’t handle the mechanics he’s adopted in the last couple of years? (In all seriousness, degrom’s spike in velocities amongst his pitches in the early 2020s was paired with a spike in injuries and it feels impossible to not believe that one caused the other. (1) is it silly to believe that the injuries are because of the new mechanics? (2) if it’s not silly, is there a world where he goes back to his old mechanics and pitch arsenal(no more 95 mile an hour slider) to stay on the field(the new mechanics certainly haven’t brought him the success he was having previously)?

What are some of the worst disparities between pythagorean W-L and actual W-L in baseball history? How does the 2023 Padres month of May stack up?

Keegan Tatum

Hello Foolish Bailey I hope you and your family had a pleasant holiday and a happy new year. What do you think about teams signing high profile free agents to 10+ year deals? I think everyone is in favor of players getting all their worth and getting high AAV contacts. But baseball feels unique in that teams can and will sign a player for a decade or more. Off the top of my head I can think of 5 guys (Ohtani Yamamoto Seager Bogarts and Turner) who’ve signed 10 year + deals. Do you think contract longevity is good for the sport? On the one hand it keeps players in a city and familiarity is good for fans. But if Turner of Bogarts regress at the end of their careers like Pujols and ARod did, do you think that will have a negative impact on the perception of these signings? Would you be hesitant to give a player a 10 year deal if you were a GM?

Jeremy Jones

Do you have a favorite quote or mantra? It doesn't have to be baseball-related!

Alexander Abbott

I would include City Connect. I think some (White Sox, Marlins, etc) deserve serious consideration

Harrison Bosque

Does this include City Connects or just the standard Home/Away/Alt lineup?

Jon Wondrasek

We all saw stolen bases explode last year, up to exactly 3,500 in 2023 from 2,487 in 2022 and was 2nd highest total ever, behind only 1987 with 3,585 (baseball-almanac.com). Do you think 2024 will see a further increase as more players learn how to take advantage of the limited pick-offs or will defenses get better at managing them with pitch-outs, back-picks, etc?

Jon Wondrasek

You get 1 PA vs. any solitified MLB pitcher. If you reach base, you win a large sum of money. Who would you choose to face?

EanieBeanie

How valuable is a good reliever compared to an average starter? And why do teams take prospects who have been doing well starting in the lower minors and sometimes AA and move them to a reliever role before promoting them?

Francis Alipranti

What do you think Jung-hoo Lee's first year will look like in MLB?

Leo Thomas

Which of the Jungian Archetypes are most resonant with you?

Eric Schultz

What do you think happens in the next 5-10 years with regional networks as well as the impact they might have on teams willingness to spend?

Bo Brown

What have been your favorite and least favorite trends in the live baseball experience over the past decade? This could pertain to any aspect of attending a live baseball game.

Will

If you're Jim Crane/Dana Brown, how do you handle the Astros future? Altuve, Bregman, Tucker, and Valdez are all about to become FAs in the next year or two and the farm system is seriously depleted, especially for position players. How do you balance win now while considering the future?

Michael Luker

Suppose you met someone who’s never seen/followed baseball before, and supposed they’re not in the US, so no geographical bias. What team would you encourage them to root for?

Jason Coppe

What would a Pirates package for Dylan Cease look like? Personally, I'm fine with giving up Termarr Johnson, Liover Peguero etc. but I wouldn't give up Skenes.

Boongash

How would you rate your 2023 using a stat, YEAR+, where 100 is an average year?

Evan A

Dear Mr. Bits, New patron but a long time fan of yours. Why do you think so many fans now totally discredit the Dodgers' 2020 championship, despite players and fans alike being all in to win at the time? Do you think the fan perception of that series would be different had the Braves or Rays won instead? Thanks!

freddie martin

Would you rather your team had a hitter who hit a home run every plate appearance or a pitcher who threw a perfect game every time they started?

Dan Russell

What do you think will be the next sweeper? Like the next pitch/tweak/strategy that will be all the rage around the league (whether it will affect pitching, hitting, defense, whatever)

Paul

Yes or no: The Chicago White Sox relocate to Nashville by 2030 I think Benetti leaving is the first sign that it’s happening. Just a matter of when

ZVN

With the Dodgers picking up arguably the two biggest free agents in this class, what are your thoughts on the measures in place for financial parity in the league? I'm all for players getting paid as much as they can negotiate, so do you think there is a way (e.g., revenue sharing) to achieve that without imposing a salary cap?

Leo Barlach

Hello Bailey, You are an MLB catcher. You are a defensive specialist on par with Jeff Mathis/Austin Hedges. You have a career and projected OPS+ of 10. To prolong your MLB career, you decide to pick up pitching and become a two-way player with the goal of becoming a low-leverage reliever. How low would you have to get your ERA versus MLB competition to where multiple teams would be vying for you? What do you think of the viability of this type of two-way player architype?

nick podd

if all current MLB players were dropped into a PUBG style battle royale, who comes out on top?

bobby witt jr truther

Hi Bailey, happy new year. First Patreon Question for you. As a Cubs fan, I've seen a few sites rank the Cubs as a one of the top farm systems in the league, but I'm not sure if they have a true game changing talent in their system. Most of their prospects seem to have some starter or bench option upside, but I don't know if any of them would ever make it to that Top 50 player in the league tier. So here's my question: Which do you think is more valuable, a farm system with 5/6 guys who have starter/bench upside, or one that has 1/2 guys with All Star/Top 50 potential and not much else beyond those players?

Tristan Morgan

If the 2023 Oakland Athletics played in the NPB or KBO what kind of record would you expect them to have? Also if you took the best team in those leagues and put them in MLB replacing the A's how would they do?

Josh Getto

Hi Bailey! What's been your favorite out of the many, many moves by the Braves this offseason? Also, do you plan to eulogize Max Stassi's Braves tenure like me with a multi-day ceremony or does a large candlelit shrine better fit the occasion?

Zac Campbell

What is a question you wish someone had asked you last year that you didn't get asked?

genderdruid

Any plans to expand your merch offerings in 2024?

Ted Rankin

If you had to bet on the next team to alter their logo and/or primary colors (minus the A's for obvious reasons) who would you choose and why?

Chris Filby

The Giants signed Lee and should continue to make some good additions this offseason but still failed to secure a face of their franchise type player (Stanton, Harper Judge, Correa, Ohtani, Yamamoto, etc). What big name will they actually land in the coming years?

G

Any bright spots for the Nationals coming out of this offseason? Despite the big trades, it still feels like we’re treading water. Perhaps more patience is in order to see how the prospects turn out, but do you think the current crop of young players looks like a solid foundation going forward?

Max Ober

Do you have any thoughts on the rays stadium plans? It feels to me that they’re basically going with Trop 2.0 and I have a hard time seeing how it would have a long term positive impact on attendance, but is there something to be optimistic about that I’m missing?

chris m

What players are you most looking forward to seeing make their MLB debut in 2024? I'd like to see you highlight some lesser known players, not super prospects like Holliday or Skenes or international stars like Yamamoto and Lee

Mitchell Israel

In light of recent events in Oakland, do you think we will see fan ownership coming to the Major Leagues in the years to come?

Sam Aronow

What are your top 5 favorite uniforms in the MLB? I’m a biased A’s fans but the Kelly green “Oakland” has to be near the top

Harrison Bosque

Hey Foolish! Am I crazy or is having a favorite team be mediocre so much more painful than being straight up bad? As a Red Sox fan, I’ve seen some great and awful teams, but back-to-back 78 win seasons feels considerably more miserable and uncertain

Gaermph

As a close personal friend of newest Sox starter Lucas Giolito, do you think he’s met his uncle’s longtime co-writer David Lynch?

Matt Fronduto

How do you think Mike Trout’s next few years play out production wise? What’s your reasoning?

Alex Schofield

What the hell is going on with the Cubs free agency? What can we even feasibly do to get to the same level of competitiveness as last season

Miles W
