Hi! I missed the survey, but a topic idea! Given the massive influx of ML/AI tools it would be really interesting to see an idea on how ai generated content and our notion of what originality is could interact. Also the good and bad sides of ML/AI technology as a tool. I think it's really important for an accessible presentation of this information currently since major governments are being pressured to make regulations and your videos generally provided a well researched picture of similar issues and some of their nuance. Ninety percent or so of liveable area on this globe is used for human activities, most of all biomass is human or something useful for us, We have, as the good book said; 'Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.', At the expense of species extinction, environmental destruction, animal suffering, human health and obesity... We need facts and figures, in a nutshell. Even if it makes it harder to be proud of our so-called "humanity".

And what is really the difference between uranium and hydrogen in bombs?

I would love to hear through Kurzgesagt how they survived all of those mass extinctions and were able to diversify into as many peculiar species as there are today. I think it would also be a good opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of shark conservation and show the damages caused by the fishing industry!

2023-08-08 12:20:11 +0000 UTCthis is not really about Patreon, but I think there should be more research on a topic when moving forward climate change, if I remember correctly there was talked about technology, for example, electric cars although it is nice to hear that there are improvements in better technology but there should more contexts included like, at what cost on innovation and how they were made like Battery Cell is made out of lithium but lithium extraction out of Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile the extraction process from what I heard takes a lot of water and the extraction is could be very detrimental to the ecosystems and to the surrounding that kill of animal and forcing people like a farmer to move away.

The heavy focus on merch over the last year, and what feels like somewhat repeating past topics have been a bit disappointing for me. I'm still excited every time I see there's a new video for me to watch!

The most important reason why I follow you and be happy to pay here is that you make more videos. Since it make it so muche easier to explain something to my non Engineering friends if there is a Kurzgesagt video. 😄

2023-07-30 23:35:03 +0000 UTCCould we please get videos about some Realistic Projects: I love your video about the 1000 year long process to terraform Venus, but why not also do a video on terraforming the soil of Earth's deserts and outbacks into forests, planting a trillion trees to reverse global warming. Surely that project is magnitudes easier than terraforming Mars and Venus or building a Dyson sphere. You need to spread ideas for projects that are achievable in our lifetime and would improve the planet, perhaps some ideas to remove the plastic from earth's oceans, ideas on sorting out recyclables out of our landfills, practical projects, carbon capture, and videos about similar doable projects to help the environment. Also please translate more of your videos to Hindi. Thank you

So, it ends up re-enforcing the ideas the person who set the survey had, rather than finding out what we want. In particular, there is no way to say "No" or "I don't know" to a question. Or even "this question is unclear". For example, you ask how much I spend on entertainment. First, what do _you_ think is meant by entertainment (does your patreon count?). Second, what currency - mine, yours or patrons native currency? Third, the answer varies and there is no way to express that - or that I don't really know. Lastly, I don't consider this any of your business. So, I selected something at random - a result which just poisons your results. Another example is having to rank what I want from your feed, or what perks I want. There is no way to answer this with the truth - which is that I truly do not care about the feed or perks. I just want to watch some interesting and entertaining videos. Please, in future surveys - include "No answer" and "I don't want to answer" options, and a section for comments (both in general, and about the survey).

2023-07-28 17:55:34 +0000 UTCTook me a bit of work to look up how long I’d been watching and how long I’ve been a patreon. YouTube makes the first question easy by going to my watch history and searching for “Kurzgesagt”. Patreon was more difficult: on the Settings page I have to find my billing history (under the “More” menu), and then wait for each year’s invoices to load — it’s very slow.

It's also really confusing to me because I love the soundtracks so I don't know why I didn't initially pay for the membership that grants them! Anyway, I doubled my membership (minus $0.50CAD).
