2023-08-08 17:57:00 +0000 UTCI will FIGHT for Alyssa. She’s not this horrible manipulator; she’s an abused child who is stuck in this game, being used as a pawn. Being used for *anything* they desire. She’s only ever known conditional “love” or affection, and she learned from a very young age how to quickly put on a mask to hide her tears, her doubts, her fears, and every normal, healthy emotion that others deem as negative. She knows what happens to her when she isn’t quick with putting on her mask, and now, as the abuse is becoming so severe from every single direction, her mask is starting to crack, and that scared, abused child is the one we see between the cracks.

2023-08-08 16:07:09 +0000 UTCI don’t understand why Webtoons doesn’t just use a rating system for stories. Have stories like this be rated 16+, others can be MA or PG or whatever the hell they want. But this harassment of creators to completely change their stories has got to stop.

And how we have seen Alyssa at that time?? Now I realise that The stuff we know about the Kims and Hiraharas dark side has been built up and revealed carefully over the time in a very subtle way and organic way and now I get why was it written that way!! I love it!

2023-08-06 20:43:56 +0000 UTCTo be fair, a part of it was also that at this time webtoon was using google adsense for ad revenue and this is, ultimately, where the sanitization of the internet has come from. Advertisers actually get to mold SO MUCH of what goes online these days. Webtoon was kind of at the mercy of googles' rules, because they couldn't have this more mature, darker content if they wanted that ad revenue which, of course they did. Modern internet is being SCRUBBED because these people who wield the money get to dictate what is and isn't allowed and "family friendly" is the one way to ensure you get the most clicks but also more importantly, that you don't get sued and lose a lot of money because "adult and mature themes are readily available to minors online".

2023-08-06 19:55:15 +0000 UTCComing back with another thought, because I realize redrawing missing scenes is a lot of effort and part of the issue, I'm sure, is that you've had to restructure parts of the story to accommodate those changes, so maybe if anything, if you wanted, you could just write out a little bit about what was supposed to play out? Or how you intended to see the formal pan out. I'm really curious how the overall arc would have played out with these scenes, because I imagine Shinae being brought to this private room must've been when he took her to parade around. Was this simply an "introduction" before moving on to meeting other elites? How did she get handed off to Sangchul, if it panned out a little differently, and likewise, when was Alyssa taken off to play HER part? It makes me think more and more about how the formal was set up where at the end of the night, Shinae has Kousuke, Nol, and even MEG searching for her - but there's no one ever trying to rescue Alyssa is, there. Partly because she has to hide it, partly because she can't look like a victim. But it's a juxtaposition that just makes my heart ACHE. I know she's a "polarizing" character but I just feel SO STRONGLY about Alyssa, this girl who has been taken advantage of, who has only sought love and acceptance, who keeps trying to figure out how she can be loved for who she is and only receives conditional love, taken advantage by all the adults in her life. The Chos seemed like they were fairly reputable, affluent, wealthy. They must know things, they must know stories. But they still sold their daughter to Yui Hirahara (to pay debts they paid the school to keep hush hush, perhaps?) GOD. I have so many feelings quimchee ;_______;

If you ever published, as others have said, I think it would be a great idea to rework some of the arcs in the way YOU envisioned. It’s YOUR story and tbh your story/ideas are so much better than the webtoon guidance/suggestions. I would pay so much money to read the story as you wanted, outside of webtoon!

This really sets the foundation for how their paths diverge, why we would still be following Alyssa after her direct ties to Nol/Shin-Ae are cut. How we are supposed to see them as two side of the coin. Not having these makes the amount of Alyssa in the current arcs feel awkward *despite* us knowing the importance of her character, just because we lost that foundation That dichotomy of Yui and Gun’s pets, the targets swapped, the girls actions leading to different outcomes, them being foils of each other. In the same way that Nol will likely rise to become what Kousuke has always wanted and fears, Shin-Ae will likely become what *Alyssa* has always wanted and fears. And Nol/Shin will do it without losing themselves. It’s such an important parallel and it kills me that we lost that foundation at the formal because of Webtoon 😭

2023-08-06 18:31:34 +0000 UTCUGH to "entertain", and in a whole separate room 😭😭😭 The Kim Formal arc is truly SO harrowing and it's a shame they made you cut this. Thinking, too, about how at this time they kept trying to push this as a romance story makes having to cut and change all of this even WORSE. Even in the version we have in the webtoon, this was a DARK awful night. But also thinking about this happening to Alyssa at the same time 😭😭😭 Alyssa, who was the only member of her group attending this formal, having to.... pay to be there in some way, huh 😭 Alyssa who knows you have to play the game to make the moment pass you have to close your eyes and power through 😭 More and more, Yui and the Kims make me think of Epstein and everyone involved pretending they didn't see anything, reaping the benefits, getting what they can out of it. Meanwhile Alyssa and Shinae are put in such compromising positions by ADULTS, who should be doing everything to protect then and instead manipulate them and try to.... "enjoy" them hyurrrkkkcfgk. Please, I know you're already so busy with the webtoon itself, but if you do have the chance to sprinkle a little more of this, I'd LOVE to see it. I know we've all talked about those theories a LOT - that Gun was the "him" Yui means when she tells Shinae she had her styled for him, but seeing THIS, knowing Alyssa went through this, too? 😭 that if wasn't merely vague insinuation! Like, you've done a fantastic job with what they would allow you, but so many people do not catch on to vague things (or assume things not true unless explicitly stated so, but that's a whole OTHER beast).

I think you said somewhere that season 2 will be even darker or more mature storywise. I hope you're able to add the scene which you want and that they won't get cut this time.

It’s like a comic can’t talk about anything that is 12+ And authors have to find a way to sneak in these messages to avoid being punished for things that has to be brought up more. It is important for naive teens/preteens to learn about these topics, they can’t live in a world of confetti and bubbles where everyone is protective and non abusive. Yes, as a society we need to head towards that, but unfortunately there are still many ppl who will use you for their own sake
