this geometry nodes setup allows you to instance objects in a line, xy plane, xyz plane and circle.
you can think of it as a merger between the array modifier and the hair particle system bring the best of both worlds in one place.
because this setup uses instances you can use as many duplicates in the viewport without incurring significant memory costs.
the setup also supports use of collection to randomly place objects
you can set random rotation and scale and also randomize the XYZ position of your instances using a noise ratio
