Scene or no scene, that is the question

Some fans suggested to add a scene to the videos instead of leaving that plain dark background.

On the one hand, this may contribute to the realism, since a scene brings context to the play. It also allows us to enrich the experience by adding secondary elements (see the "Harley Quinn in Public" video where we find ourselves in public with spectators and the cops arrival [video] Harley Quinn in Public | VReal_18K on Patreon).

On the other hand, it also adds a lot more complexity to the projects. It's not just a matter of adding a plain static image on the background. The scenario lights and shadows must match the ones casted upon the characters too. Additionally, compositing is yet another new step after, since we cannot render it all at once. For instance, the video that is currently in production is passing through all these steps and it's taking much longer than the usual.

Therefore, we are going to consider some further productions with scenes but probably not for most of them. After all, those pixels from the background are usually not the ones that excite us the most, right? ;-)

Do you prefer with or without a scenario? Or whatever? We'd love to hear your opinion.

Green screen/passthrough might be a good compromise and you can essentially still have one version blacked out without much work of making a green background for people to use their own environment with
