Pet Stone – Wondrous item, very rare

A seemingly ordinary stone – but only on the face of it. Inside its solid body slumbers magic older than the compacted dirt from which it was shaped. In its stillness, the pet stone shows no signs of self-awareness, and yet it is the topic of a heated discussion. Is it just a magically infused object in the truest sense of the word, or does its tough hull shelter life – at least a tender spark of it? Don’t confuse it with a rock-head though, and good luck finding one that isn’t already part of a turnstone gnome’s well-assorted stone collection.
