This is a great question! :D You will experience scenes with Mal while on the JR poly route since Mal's triggered romance in Book One does carry forward to influence things. In fact, there is a scene within the Introduction of Book Two. (The MC seeks out a particular server 👀). There's more in store for you in addition to pursuing a romance with both J and R since the lock-in will occur later on. Until then, your MC will experience encounters and choices with Mal in addition to moments with JR. 💚 I hope that you're looking forward to these moments!

Hi there! I’m not Aelsa, so I hope you don’t mind me answering your question. I just want to assure you that being on the JR route will not lock you out of pursuing Mal as well going into Book Two. So long as you properly triggered the start of Mal’s romance in Book One, there will be plenty of our beloved Mal for you going forward alongside romancing J and R. ❤️💜 😊

I think this has been discussed elsewhere, but if you're on the J/R poly route can you still have something going on with Mal? I did have the start to a potential romance with Mal along with J/R, but will that carry to book two or am I locked onto just J/R going forward?

I honestly got to the end of this part and was gutted I wanted to read more I loved it it’s so good 💚🌲

Thank you! I'm glad that you enjoyed the writing of this first drop. I suppose that this is one of the challenges of dropping content rather than having the entire book or multiple chapters that can provide some orienting perspective. It was my hope that the Introduction would be unexpected to readers, grabbing their attention right away. It's meant to bring up/allude to topics that are integral to the series, similar to posing a question and then using the rest of the chapters to dig up those answers. (I'm limited by the public nature of this comment section or else I would be more specific with examples... ♊) Chapter 1 goes back into the more slice-of-life style with the MC taking stock of their newfound circumstances, checking in with their connections, etc. I suspect that some readers might have anticipated a start at the town line or perhaps within the B&B--something more traditional, but it's my intent to make this be the starting course of like a six course meal to whet your appetite. (Or possibly boggle your mind, kick it into overdrive with theories, or make you want to learn more, etc.) I do appreciate your feedback! I wonder if having the rest of Chapter 1 in the future might further dovetail the content within the Introduction, allowing readers to discover why it was an intense kickoff to this book. There's a lot in store. :D

it was very well written and enlightening to the things to come, although it did feel... premature. like it was more suited to be the first chapter than the prologue.
