Personality:

Aloof, cautious, and curious, Mal is an inquisitive individual who lets her burning curiosity drive her forward. She must know the whats, the whens, the whys, and very little stands in her way of getting the answers she seeks. But so focused on her goals, Mal often doesn’t make time to forge meaningful connections. It’s left her being regarded, recognized, but surprisingly… lonely. Not that she fully understands that yet.

Backstory:

Mal is a “Lesser Spirit”, created by the Spirit of Storms. Despite her magic being in tuned with nature’s volatile power, Mal’s control over it isn’t as strong as it could be. She is as such considered a “runt”, tall yet spindly, sharp yet considerate, unlike the rest of her kin who are often wild and reckless. She’s since earned herself a name through her inquisitive nature, having been the first to spot weakness in the barrier that entombs her people in the Mystic Plane.

She presents her findings to her Gods, and is tasked with finding a way to bypass the barrier. And she does; it’s only a crack, nothing more than a mouse’s hole of a portal opening, but it’s enough to set everything in motion.

Leading a group of what's essentially bodyguards, Mal is given a mission: to get through her "lockpicked" portal to find a way to break the barrier down on the other side. Open the door for the rest of her kin to gain access.

Except the mission goes horridly.

Her escorts killed or sent back with extreme prejudice by another force they were aware of but never prepared for. Mal barely manages to escape with her life, and she crash lands close to Kaela's farm, where she manages to limp into the barn before collapsing. When she awakens, she's essentially stranded in the mortal realm, stuck in a human version of her body that's as much a blessing as it is a curse, and her mission changes:

-Find a way to break the barrier down, thus a way back home

-Gather intel on the inhabitants in this realm. Seek weaknesses, exploits

-Do not fall for their lies
