Function Freeze by Ned Rush
Added 2023-12-30 23:43:40 +0000 UTCHello everyone. Another Function device for testing. I've always wanted to get into FFT but my brain couldn't handle it, but I've dipped my toes and I'm ready to plunge deeper. A good starting point seemed to try and add the function idea to an FFT style delay/buffer. The function scrubs around the position of the buffer so can make for mad resampling of incoming audio and freezing. Enjoy. See you for more soon. Download attached.

What do you think could make the Delay more interesting? I was thinking of making it multi-channel/polyphonic, maybe 8 delays at once with slightly different times.

2024-01-03 15:37:14 +0000 UTCHi Ned, loving your Function devices! However, the Freeze one doesn't seem to be working properly for me. For the most part I'm getting no audio from it. When I open the device in Max, the Console window says "pfft~: power of two required for fft size: 1024". I'm saying "for the most part" because for a short while it suddenly worked, and then it stopped working again. I'm on Ableton Live 11 btw.
