Celine Dion HITS MELODY ( Live )

Well.... She's a LEGEND FOR A REASON!!!!!

Celine Dion HITS MELODY ( Live )

Comments

French Canadian Queen. That was 2008-2009 Taking Chances world tour. I saw her in concert a week or so before the world shut down (March 7 and 8, 2020, Courage tour). Second row. Had chills all over the entire show. Powerful vocalist, enigmatic performer, queen of power stances and graceful arm movements.

Quick background, Celine aka The Queen of All Feelings (because she does feel every note, every time) is one of the two greatest living vocalists (Barbara Streisand is the other and their duet Tell Him is insanely beautiful) is the youngest of 13 children. She was born in a small town in Quebec (she’s French Canadian). The family was dirt poor but she remembers how happy they were. Everyone loved music and she can’t remember not singing. She began performing in public at 12 and was a massive star in Quebec by 14 or 15 with multiple French language albums. Her first English songs were recorded with her not even speaking English yet when she was 17-18. She won Eurovision (she had been a French language superstar for years) in 1988. In 1990 her 9th studio album, the first in English was released. It did well but it was the second English album in 1993 that made her a true world wide superstar. Her next English album in 1996 set records it still holds and is on multiple 25 greatest albums lists. It produced hit after hit including the Oscar nominated Because You Loved Me (one of her many Oscar nominated songs, the first nomination & win came earlier with her Beauty and the Beast duet with Peabo Bryson). The biggest moment in music history from this album & perhaps from her entire career was when she captivated the world and blew the top off an arena at the 1996 Billboard Music Awards with her iconic performance of All By Myself. She is authentic, humble, grateful, charitable and deeply loved at home and around the world. She also has a great sense of humour and surprised everyone by helping out a fellow Canadian and good friend when she agreed to sing a love theme for his film Deadpool 2. The video is hysterical.

Our Canadian Queen! I was working in the music business when she was recording her first English language songs.

Such an icon! Her voice always moves me to tears. Her accent is French Canadian.
